Busy Busy Me today

Today I concentrated on getting some cards made up for 'business'. My sister Kelly and I have teamed up to sell our cards locally- so in the spring and fall we are planning on doing shows to sell them. What that means is that I now have a need to do a bunch of cards in a sitting- so that is how my day went - I produced 9 cards today- not much in the scheme of things- but a fair bit for me.
I used new Bobunny Kitchen Spice on the above card, with a martha punched border, a MM sticker tag that I foam taped up and some Sticko flower stickers I've not been able to use properly until now. I also used my cuttlebug to emboss a boatload of white cs, and used that on a lot of the cards today. I had cut a branch from the paper, and printed out all my greetings with the puter.

Don't love this card, but I wasn't sure what to do with that funky Mambi chip piece, so I stuck on some gems, added some martha punch lace and bflies and a ribbon.

another one I don't love- think it might be that i don't love those bflies anymore. Bobunny Delilah paper, and DCWV glitter paper, craft supply ribbon, a Stick flower, and some buttons finish it.

This one is made with some leftover stamped bflies- from Kelly's CTMH stash- Butterflies stamps. I glittered them as well. Added buttons, lots of layered pp- some Dream Street and some Bobunny Kitchen Spice, with pen details. A craft supply ribbon- and buttons and pearls to finish.

LOVE this one! something about black with blue and green! love that combo! I used a MAMBI tag, overtop the chipboard lifted embossed paper, the paper underneath is K&CO- green and Bobunny- Blue - added another leftover bfly and button with floss.

another one I like- the color doesn't come out as pretty as in person- but you get the gist. More Bobunny Kitchen Spice, with Delilah- I cut out the medallion- then cut two more circles with my scallop scissors- I crumpled them, added a button in the center- cut a stem and two leaves, then put that all over some embossed paper. Then I added two more buttons to my greeting.

Had a hard time finishing this one- tho I love the blueish teal and brown combo- I used an Am. Crafts journal sticker- and some more of those Sticko flowers, added in some craft supply ribbon, some martha punched lace and a few misc. gem swirls. Another button to finish off the greeting.

back to love- this sweet card turned out cute with more Bobunny kitchen spice, some bobunny dot ribbon, and a few fussy cut flowers and stem, added on top of an embossed rectangle and topping a double layer of Martha punched lace.

And finally today- have you hung in there with me? a bit more from the scrap pile- more bobunny delilah, with some CTMH Flutterbys stamps- some more Martha lace- and a bunch of pearls and gems.
Thanks for checking out my cards, if you are ever interested in buying them- just let me know.
But also- I hope I have inspired you to reach into your paper scraps and make use of some of the beautiful things you have just hanging around!

It doesn't get much easier

or more delicious then fresh cinnamon rolls- but wait - these are NOT Cinnamon Rolls!!
they are cinnamon biscuits!!!! and they were so easy to make!
I was really wanting to bake yesterday - but was out of yeast- not feeling like running to the store- I searched instead for a scone recipe- but was rewarded with this yummy sounding recipe from All Recipes, in their biscuits section. They were called Cinnamon Sugar Fan Biscuits- but someone suggested rolling them like pinwheels instead of the fan shape, so I did that- and added a yummy glaze to the top as well. BY FAR these were so simple- I made a second double batch for hubby to take to work.

Recipe-

Heat oven to 425 degrees.

2 cups all purpose flour, 3tblsp. sugar, 4 teaspoons baking powder, 1/2 tsp. salt, 1/2 tsp. cream of tarter, 1/2 cup shortening, 2/3 cup milk

mix everything except shortening and milk in large bowl, then cut in shortening with pastry cutter until mix resembles coarse crumbs, add milk, stirring until just moistened. turn onto lightly floured surface and knead about 10 times, pat or roll out into large rectangle.

filling-

1/2 cup butter, 1/2 cup cinnamon sugar. ( this can be more or less depending on how much filling you want- of course I added more! LOL!)

smear butter onto dough, then top with cinnamon sugar- roll longsides into large roll, then cut into 1/2 inch to 1 inch pieces- the thick you make them the bigger they end up. I squished them down a little flatter with my palm.

bake on parchment paper for about 12-15 minutes ( until lightly browned)

cool slightly and make glaze to top them

glaze- 1/2 stick butter, 2 cups confectioner sugar, and a drizzle of leftover coffee. ( you can use milk or maple syrup or orange juice- etc...)

mix sugar and butter together, then add liquid to reach the consistency you like, drizzle over warm rolls.

Eat fresh- with lots of fresh coffee! hope you enjoy this recipe!

Sat Card Patterns

Good Morning! Hope everyone is having an excellent start to the weekend! Our sketch 30 this week is sponsored by Sherrod Studio - but prize only- so we got to use whatever items we wanted.
First- I love this sketch- and I was more then happy to pull out my new Bobunny Kitchen Spice line and match it up with these adorable DollarTree bee stickers. The flower is also from the set, I added a gem to the center to glitz it up a bit. And I printed out my greeting.
I used shimmer oyster cardstock, a journal spot from Reminisce, and popdotted my greeting. I had cut the leaves from the orange paper, and used my zigzag scissors on the mat.

Love the little banner look to the greeting!

Have a super wonderful day!

feeling fallish

I ran out to the store yesterday and grabbed up a couple sets of inkadinkado stamps, they are called Mindscape images and if you look closely you can see that the larger image is made of small images, like cats and spiderwebs- soooo KEWL!
For this BOO - creatures of the night card, I stamped the bat on the background paper, and matted it with some Bobunny Delilah papers, added in a few Reminisce stickers, and topped it off with a plain WRMK- reverse side- and a fun button from my stash. I used Amer. Craft thickers for the boo, and punched the border with my Martha punch.

Here is a close up- look at the double cats, tiny bat and I think that might even be a skull in the middle there- so neat to look at!
Next is a little more Delilah paper from Bobunny, I sewed by machine, didn't work so great - poor old Kendra Kenmore is barely holding in there for me- hopefully I can replace her before she goes to sewing machine heaven.

Again, I used some new Inkadinkado stamps- these are some perfectly beautiful stamps for fall! I added in a few fussy cut trees- love that paper- don't you need about 1000 sheets? I used my Colorbok petal points for the deep amber orange color. I added in a few Bobunny buttons, and a touch of lace from my generous sister Kelly - she gave me some of this and I love it!

Of course I zigzag cut the very edges of the paper mat, and inked the card a touch- hard to tell I think.
Thanks for dropping in today- hope you have a love filled day!

Getting back in the groove..

With summer winding down and the hot hot days we've had, I just haven't been in the creative mode I like to be in. Since we had a storm come in and kick out the humidity- today was FAB-YOU-LOUS! So after getting the house all cleaned up and ready for the week, I sat down and created a bit.
This card is for the 2sketches4you challenge- Laura's 33 sketch. Kelly- my sister- gave me this super adorable glitter chips she got clearance by K&Co- I grabbed my scraps carton and got to work. I used bobunny cardstock, some K&Co dot paper and a bit of DCWV glitter paper.
I also got some swiss dots embossed cardstock I cut into a circle, and placed that on some green glitter paper- also DCWV. I added a bit of Bobunny dot ribbon, a button and floss tie on the top of the cherry stems. Then I used some old thickers from Am. Crafts for the greeting.
I also added a bit of the tiny dot paper along the edge, and scalloped with scissors.

Had to include a close up to show you the glitter!
Next I did the Mojo Monday Challenge- I've never done this one before- so it was fun to try a new challenge blog.
The sketch was fab and I got out these MAMBI glitter chips that I bought a while ago and keep trying to pull out- I used the popsicle. Added in some K&CO paper- also a gift from my sister.

I kept this one simple- mostly cardstock, but did add in a bit of orange glitter paper- I scalloped the blue cardstock and cut a white circle I cut with smaller scallops. I printed the sentiment- don't see that much nowadays do we? and added a few teal gems, and teal button.

Here is another close up to show the glitter off a bit better.
thanks for dropping in!
be sure to drop by Kelly's blog for her blog candy giveaway- I will be doing one myself this week- in celebration of my 20,000 th blog hit!

Treat bag

Cardpatterns sketch 29- this week we were sponsored by The Cutting Cafe, we had these cute little bags to make. I used my scor it board to score the embossed lines in my cardstock. And I handcut the heart out with an exacto knife. I then used some Reminisce stickers to add leaves, the pear border sticker and bracket with word. I also added a few Martha pearls.
Then I added some chocolate covered nuts and folded in the top that I added a brad to, to close the bag.
I finished it with two layered border stickers as well- all from Reminisce's Autumn Harvest collection.
thanks for looking!

A bit of mellow

I have been in a mellow frame of mind lately. Though I typically love to work with bright and bold colors, I've been drawn to subtle and simple for the past few weeks. I think my creative side likes to switch it up to keep me going. Last night I worked on these two little cards, they are only note sized, but big impact I think.

Reminisce just came out with some beautiful new lines, and I loved the pear stickers from the Autumn Forest line. The greens are devine and paired- PEARED!! Haha! well with the black and cream I used.

I you want to see how I made the kraft tags, go to the Bobunny blog today and see my step by step instructions.

For great pear- I added some of the diecut stickers that go with the line, along the edges of my black cardstock. I added my tag, popdotted along with the pear popdotted as well. I added two leaf stickers- again- coming from the line, and printed the sentiment which I glued on sideways.

The pearfect card was made with my martha punch, some scrap green paper, two popdotted pears on a popdotted tag, and printing the greeting out as well. I added a tiny little gem as well.
Have a cool and wonderful day! LOL!

Digital Stamps

Do you like them? I just happened into them in the last few months. They have their good and bad points- but I have to say for the most part- I really like them. I love to stamp, but am not really an expert stamper- so sometimes I don't get great quality images. At least with digi stamps, they come out crisp and clean with no extra little oopsie marks.
This week at Cardpatterns, we were sponsored by My Graphico. We received some flower, bird and stem images. I liked the idea of a super simple, but elegant card.

So I printed my flower stems three times, and cut them into rectangles. I put them on this gorgeous creamy almond color. Which matched the bit of Scenic Route paper, the green and tan paper perfectly. I also used a bit of All My Memories paper with the dots on the background.
So what I did- I added the mat of AMM paper, then punched the Scenic Route with my martha eyelet punch, pulling the punched edge up a bit for dimension, then I popdotted all my stamped rectangles, adding a bit of ribbon to the edge of them- that was a tricky bit! I also added a simple bow, and NO greeting! didn't think it needs one. I guess if I did, it would be stamped onto the bottom there, in the middle or to one side.
thanks for coming by!

Blogger ate my post

I did a nice post on Wed and apparently blogger didn't like it- or maybe liked it too much- it ate it! oh well. I don't have a lot of time today- so sorry about the quick post. We've had a heck of a week- losing and being without power for over 39 hours from Sun-Tues- the heat just wiped me out! Also trying to get the few last minute things done and bought for school starting soon.

Took my oldest to the dr - just a check up- anyone know any good basketball scouts? the kid just turned 11 and measured 5'5" 1/4 inches at the dr's office- she's only 3 inches shorter then me!
and she's now taller then her aunt! Hunh Kelly! LOL!
So I'm posting my long overdue Shortcuts sponsored CardPatterns card today. Am working slowly on a couple cards this week- nothing too much!

The background is a rubon in a different way- more like gold leafing. It's a product from Around the Block, you add the sticker background, then rub a sheet of leafing onto it- thought it worked great for this frosted card. I added a bit of Amer. Crafts paper- just a strip and a teeny bit of kraft that I punched with my other martha punch! I added my Am. Crafts journal sticker to some cardstock, cut that out, then added a bit of old stash MM ribbon, a 3d Anna Griffin crown sticker that I gemed up, and my MM tiny type letters.
Enjoy your day!

Challenges challenges

Can you believe it? this is my 200th post! cant' believe how far this blogging thing has come for me!
Today I worked this morning on some challenge cards.
First up is my
Raspberry Suite Challenge by Dawn McVey.
The colors to work with were Red, Moss, White, and Berry. My pic color is just a tad off, my red coming across as more pinkish.
I used - hannah montana- stamps on this!! I am so not a fan of her, but found this set on clearance for $2.80 and loved the guitar, heart, butterflies and leaf vine. So it was ok to buy! LOL!

I used my Versamark ink for the background vines, cant' see them well on the green. I fussy cut out the bflies, and popdotted my greeting block. The greeting stamp is from Studio G ( those dollar bins are so much fun!) and the ink is from Autumn Leaves.
Note- I know I'm too late to enter the challenge- but this was fun to play with anyway this week!)

The journal sticker is a clear Amer. Crafts one. I also used a martha punch for the scallops along the one edge, and added two small tags to the other side. The ribbon is Am. Crafts too.

Next up is my card based on Kazan's sketch over at 2sketches4you.
I pulled out a giant pack of mixed papers, and randomly pulled out a sheet, then matched up two of these pink ginghams with it. The brown dot paper is Kaiser Craft, and the pinks are from DCWV packs I think.

I made this paper accordioned flower,
then added a stickopotamus flower with a SEI tag that I turned to the backside, then added my MM tiny type letters.

The ribbon is Lil Davis - just using up some stash!

Lastly for today- is the challenge from
Cupcake Craft Challenges . Their challenge was to do a Beach Themed project.
again- I used some Kaiser Craft paper, that I shabbied up, then added this quote block with a Flair Designs quote sticker. I added a bit of trim with scalloped scissors, and some small needle holes
I punched a few shells and branches, then shaded them with colored pencils, adding glitter to the shells as well.

I finished it off with some pearls scattered around. The ribbon is old stash from a craft store.

Thank you so much for coming by!
have a great day!

Two Cards!

Sharing two Anna Griffin cards today! this one turned out so pretty! I used my birds and swirls embossing folder for behind the vellum quote. I also cut that out with a scalloped mat, and popdotted it. Then I double popdotted the flowers for them to stick up even more, those I fussy cut from paper.
I added some of this gloriously pretty butterfly ribbon, it has sparkles on it! and a cute little teal button.
I love vellum, but I think its considered a less superior product then most of the new clear products. I think so many people just don't know what to do with vellum I hope it sees a comeback! I like to use a spray adhesive, I stick the vellum way down in my trash can ( i always have liners in there) and spray it- that way the glue doesn't go all over. Then I can pull it out and it adheres evenly and doesn't have those ugly marks in it.
Next I went more simplistic with a baby card. More Anna Griffin papers and rubon- I love that embossed paper!! then I added two little ribbon tags, a prima flower I stickled and a couple handcut leaves.
thanks for dropping by!

Cuttlebug Friendship Gatefold Challenge

I had a little time yesterday so I worked on this challenge. I've been cleaning out more scrap supplies.
It will be nice to work in a neat and uncluttered space again, I've been clearing out old manufacturers product- companies I no longer work for, and can't wait until I get everything well organized. ( I'm a total neat freak at heart)
I plan on doing another blog candy giveaway soon, since my 20,000 hit is just around the corner, so keep coming back to see just when I put it up.
For today, my gatefold card is pretty typical, just folded so that the two parts slightly overlap. I used Bobunny Anna Sophia paper on it, and I embossed with this beautiful folder I can't find the name of! I cut a second layer, then sanded the paper .
I used a Bobunny rubon and some Eksuccess flowers I bought ages ago.

I tied on a bit of hemp then added some swirls of gems from MAMBI.

The bracket style piece is traced and cutout, then traced and cutout and popdotted for dimension and sturdiness.

thanks for popping by!

Reminisce Halloween

New CHA Releases are out! Reminisce has come out with two new super sweet collections for Halloween.
The Halloween collection is darling with vintage looking images and colors, I love the cute little papers and the awesome journal sticker spots that coordinate with the collection.
For this layout I punched circles out of most of the different papers, adding them to my background, I also added a nice thick stripe ontop of my cream cardstock. The sticker strips are always neat to work with, since they have been diecut for the holes to be open, you can also leave them for a solid look. I adored that cat journal sticker so I made that the base for my title! Some cute pics of my little one in her halloween shirt , and some journaling about her party at school finish it. I love love this layout!!

Trick or Treat is the other collection, using some paper mache containers I made this sweet treats tower, perfect for a nice little gift! I sanded the edges of the boxes after I applied the paper, it makes it a little shabby. I added some of these awesome chipboard spiders that are part of the collection, putting them on some floss, they look like creepy crawlies are spinning a web on the boxes. To tie the boxes together I used a bit of Bobunny ribbon in orange, and a small star button I've had forever.
have a wonderful day!

Card Patterns Sketch #26

Our sponsor is Shortcuts this week! yeah!
I took my clear card, and cut it down to make this see through spot on my card.
I used Bobunny papers, layering them, then cut a circle in the card with my exacto knife.
Then I cut another circle with the purple cardstock, and simply cut around cutting out small wedges to make the fun starburst pattern , then layered the piece to cover any edges.
I got this cute little sticker on clearnace, he's also a shaker box with some tiny red gems in his tummy.
so cute!
I put some orange paper on the inside of the card to peek through around him.
I also used it in a ruffle then layered an old KI sticker strip over top, talk about lots of layers!. I anchored the strip with some purple brads.
I computer printed my greeting and cut it into a tag, then tied on my ribbon and button.

thanks for coming by!

Winner and new card

I made this cute little card a little while ago, but totally forgot to post it.
The papers are all American Crafts, even the owls that I fussy cut out.

isn't the saying so cute!!

I handcut the branch and the leaves, adding in a journal spot from AC that I stuck to some white cardstock.

I also added a bit of Bobunny ribbon and a teeny button down at the bottom. Of course I folded my leaves in half for dimension!
