Happy New Year

Hello my friends! My goodness it's been too long since I've posted. BUT I was taking the week after Christmas to spend with my family and we've moved my office inside the house because until I can afford new windows  doors and insulation, my office is just too cold to stay out there long enough. For the next couple months I'll be creating from a folding table in the den, and stashing money away to get started on the long list of projects to do to get my office more winter friendly.

With the New Year comes change. I am cleaning out my Pink Paislee stash. Rebecca was generous with the team and since I'm creating for fun now with the beautiful papers, I have too much to keep it all for myself! I do plan on another Pink Paislee giveaway this month, come back for that soon. I have been organizing and cleaning, something about getting all my Christmas stuff put away makes me want to start spring cleaning!

I actually sat down and made some cards, just for myself yesterday. It seems that over the past couple months I haven't had much time to focus on that. Creating just because I wanted to. What freedom that is. I miss it, and I want to refocus and make that more of a priority this year.
So, wanna see the cards I made?

ok, you don't have to twist my arm! LOL!! Here is one I made before Christmas and didn't get time to share. It's actually a mini card, about 3x4 inches. I used some of that Graphic 45 paper, added a cut scallop circle from my Cricut and layered another circle cut on top. Then I clipped on the poinsettia chipboard from K&co with one of those teeny little clothes hanger clips. I used a Girls' Paperie sticker and I added some penned lines around the card. I finished with a little of my pretty seam binding ribbon.

next, is another Christmas one I made with Pink Paislee's new Christmas line. I first cut out that large scalloped square from my Cricut Imagine machine, then I embossed it with a polka dot folder. I layered several layers of paper, adding on that border strip across the left side. Then I cut out the Santa sleigh image from a piece of the collection paper, and I foam taped it ( using Glue Arts UCutIt foam) I added some of my pretty seam binding in a soft red color to make the ribbon bow, with a couple berries from a champagne colored stem, added a button and twine. Then I foam taped the Sleigh Ride coupon and added that to the card as well.

Close up, showing the dimension a little better.

next, how about a fun and bright card.
Again, I used my Imagine Machine and cut out the scalloped rectangles, this time, decreasing one in size- I think they are about 1/2 inch difference. then I used the Glue Arts foam UcutIt and put in a large piece between the two, and I ran the whole thing through my Cuttlebug using the polka dots folder to emboss. ( Seriously- I LOVE the new sheets of UCutIt foam from Glue Arts - great stuff and it's coming out in nice big sheets soon!)  I layered some City Park papers from Amer. Crafts and this fun jumbo ribbon from May Arts on my card. I topped the ribbon bow with a felt Am. Crafts flower, and stuck in a couple of those pretty leaf stick pins. I added an Am. Crafts sticker and then my fabric Thickers from Am. Crafts.

Let me tell you about the fabric stickers. I love them, and ordered myself a couple packs in white. Then I used my spray misters to create my own colors. If you have been coming to my blog long enough, you will know my favorite colors to use are lime, turquoise/aqua and orange, which can be hard to find in cute letter stickers. I created my own! and I LOOOOVE them!! I just sprayed them as dark as I wanted ( loving that they are variegated a little in color as well from misting them).

ok, back to Christmasy cards. more Pink Paislee Christmas line. Again, I cut out a bunch of these brackets using my Imagine, I LOVE the preloaded shapes on there!! then I embossed again with the polka dots folder, one of my fav's next to swiss dots. I layered on a piece of Pink Paislee Bayberry Cottage paper ( black check). I also layered on the border strip at the bottom. I foam taped ( UCutIt from Glue Arts) the punch out banners, then again on the bracket journal spot, and once again for the ticket shape. This card is so gorgeous with all it's dimension. I added some pretty buttons, even topping the red one with that tiny santa punch out, along with adding in a bit of my gold seam binding ribbon. I also folded a couple tabs and stuck them in at the top of the card.

 Close up.

ANNNND..... back to an everyday card... see how I'm mixing it up. yeah. can you believe I still have more cards to share? Sorry for the long post, go take a coffee break if you need to.. lol!
My pics are kinda dark today, and not great- I was running out of sunlight and took them in my front window during the sunset at 3:30- isn't that crazy- CRAZY I tell you for it to set so early.

This card went so fast, I love this City Park cloud paper from Am. Crafts, so cut out a few of the clouds and foam taped them (UCutIt) and then I added the Am. Crafts halloween Hi letters and felt sun onto this swiss dots embossed bracket shape ( cut from the Imagine) and I foam taped the whole thing up off the layered card. Again, Am. Crafts City Park papers and a little of my gold seam binding ribbon, with a mother of pearl button.

See the glitter on the clouds- LOVE that!! I LOOOOOVE the color of that ribbon too, it's got gold, pumpkin and lime in the ribbon. ( if you are interested- I sell this ribbon in my Etsy Store)

You probably thought I was done with Christmas cards. Nope, still have one more. And I have a HUGE HUGE stash of Christmas papers and embellies I am hoping to condense down before I put it away for the year. Once again, Pink Paislee Father Christmas line, with my scallop circle cut from the Imagine machine. I used the Seeing Spots embossing folder on this one. Then I foam taped ( UCutIt ) the punch out santa circle on top. I layered on some green paper and a bit of Parisian Anthology I sprayed with some sage and lemon misters. I added some of that red ribbon, some glittered and berry stems and a button. I also foam taped the two coupons and added them to the card.

See the dimension the foam tape gives?

LAST- but not least today. I have one final card to share.
A pretty and bright birthday card. First, I used more Am. Crafts City Park line, I did cut out that pretty bracket with my Imagine machine, but I also printed and cut out that butterfly as well - this is all done with the preloaded colors and images on the machine, I also embossed it with my polka dots folder- both the bfly and the bracket). I looped some pretty ribbon around the middle of the bfly and tied that on with a button and twine. I layered the butterfly and some Am. Crafts fabric numbers on the bracket shape ( I find I have TONS of numbers from my letter sheets- I need to figure out more projects to use them up!) I stamped a Hero Arts greeting and finished it with a couple more buttons and twine, then foam taped it (UCutIt) up off the bracket.

You can see the embossing better here.

And I promised to chose a winner for my Pink Paislee Giveaway, which I was supposed to announce last weekend. Sorry about that- we just spent time together as a family and enjoyed a little peace and quiet with each other. So I will announce it today.....
Congratulations to ....
