Teacher Gifts

I puzzle over what to give the teachers at the end of the year. This year especially, since Alizabeth is moving on to middle school next year and she has really had some great relationships with several of her teachers. I typically send in homebaked goods to the teachers on a regular basis, but still wanted to send in something small for them.
So I came up with the idea of treat jars. I found these canning jars for less then $9 for a case of them- giving me more money to spend on the treats. Went to Bj's and bought several bags of Dove, and Hershey's chocolates, then mixed them. I filled the jars with those chocolates- what teacher doesn't enjoy some chocolates!!
I started out with good intentions-was going to alter every three jars differently so that the teachers would be getting pretty unique jars, and I wouldn't get bored- BUT I ended up doing a few jars different- then having to just finish the rest the same as I needed to get them done, and just wasn't going to have the time to play as I had planned.
This first jar ended up being my bulk look- my sister Kelly and I spent the day together and went bargain shopping in Michaels discount section- we bought some things and split them- so I have her to thank for the Making Memories papers I used- the GORGEOUS butterfly ribbon- which has sparkles on it!!- was clearance for $1 a roll!!!! I used Kelly's CTMH Butterflies set and stamped in Staz On on the light pink paper- then I glittered the life outta those little butterflies- cut them out and glued only the centers to the jar. I added some scallop scissor cut ovals, a few simple buttons with floss, and a tag to the jar. I had Alizabeth write a short thank you note to the teacher it was for- and wah- la!! one down - 11 to go! LOL!
Here is the lid for this- just a cut out scallop circle with a blfy.
Alizabeth has two male teachers- both music- and I wanted them to have a masculine looking jar, so I broke out my old star punch and cut circles on my circut- I used some beautiful SEI papers, and added a computer printed sentiment, and some sewed on buttons.

This was actually my first set- I broke out my MM Chloe's Closet that I bought on sale- and made two jars up- but as I said- time ran out and I had to get these jars done. All Chloe's Closet papers, and I added in some buttons too.

I know it's probably a little late for ideas for end of school for most of you out there- we ended up being extended this year. But- these would make great christmas gifts next year- just make sure you have plenty of time to work on them! LOL!
have a great day!
