2sketches4you card

this is my beautiful 10 year old- is it me- or doesn't she look much older? I am so happy I finally discovered how to use the priority setting on my camera- see i have no patience for reading the camera directions- tho normally i'm a directions reading kinda girl. DH and I have put together many a piece of furniture and I believe I could now be a pictogram champion- well- I'd give the champion a run for his money- or I could just attend a pictogram championship. if they have those.
so I finally figured out that I could change the white balance on my priority setting - up to now- everything was blue tinted- because apparently the default setting is incandescent, or the camera people just want to mess with me so I think I'm taking pics of smurfs.
I forced A to lay in the grass- where she was afraid of ants and stink bugs and spiders and all manner of the insect world we have encountered here - crawling up her arms and scaring her. she's a real nature girl. not so much. and for the record- nothing did crawl up her arms.
and I got some great pics of her - much better then the school ones I just paid for.

I'll confess- I worked on my design team cards before i did my sketch this week. but I guess I'm keeping those secret so I'll share my sketch card and a couple others I did yesterday.
this is kazan's sketch 11- and I used some sei papers, a around the block circle sentiment. a bobunny rubon ( cherish) lots of sanding on the papers, a ribbon from american crafts, some prima flowers and some half pearls from micheals.
When i went to Micheals this week- I got a martha stewart punch and these wonderful bird stamps, all for 30% off - so I was pretty happy about that. I love larger stamps- and I stamped these onto some nice quality cardstock, and played with my watercolor pencils and waterbrush and colored them in. I felt like I was painting again, which made me pretty happy. After they dried I cut them out to use as I would like. So I made this one with flair papers, the martha bird stamp and border punch. I sewed some around the edges, added a couple prima flowers a button, twine and a small tag with a rubon from Creative Imaginations.

and because I wanna keep it real, I'm putting in my last card, which I don't like at all, but at least the saying is fun and I'd totally send it to my sister if I had one- or maybe to my bff- who would love it. the papers are SEI and the saying is around the block. the flower is prima, letters are Bobunny, ribbon is craft supply and chipboard is bazzill.
have a wonderful day!

Kristen all the cards are lovely. Love the pink, the sanding and the the awesome details. That picture of your daughter is gorgeous - I thought it was a studio shot :) I can't believe School picture taking methods have not changed in 30 years! Drives me crazy too.
