Good Morning!
When I look at these photos, I see my sweet daughter, who chased down butterflies all summer long. I wanted soft but summery colors. So I pulled out my Parisian Anthology papers and I chalked the edge of this Beautiful Butterfly paper. I used a darker sage green chalk from my chalk pallet from Pebbles. All I did was to rub a cotton ball on the chalk and then rubbed it along the edges of the patterned paper. I also rubbed around the butterfly embossing, since my layout is about butterflies. I made sure I rubbed the cotton over the chalk until it was really well rubbed in, since I didn’t want to worry about the dust getting on my other items. This also helps fade the edges of the chalk into the paper.
I also took a separate piece of Fancy Filigree paper and a paper towel with 3 colors of spray mist. I used English Ivy, Lemon and Key Lime. I took and sprayed two of the colors into my paper towel , then rubbed them into my paper. This gave me much more control over where and how much color I was putting down. You can see this cut piece underneath some of my photos.
In addition I used some Queen Bee ( Honeycomb) paper and Flip notes on the side and top and bottom of my photo block. I also did add a strip and a block from the Parisian Elements paper. I had a lovely time stamping the butterfly from the Clear Stamps, cutting them out and putting glitter on them, then putting them on my layout.
I added details to my layout such as some crumpled seam binding, topped with a soft green pearl button tied on with a bit of twine. I also drew some edge lines along the edges of some block pieces and my journaling.
Thanks for coming by the blog today!
