Happy days

Omgosh- the news is finally out- I can burst out and tell you all! I made the design team for gcd studios! I am now one of their altered art girls and couldn't be happier! I feel truly blessed to have been given the chance to be chosen for these new teams I've been picked for these past couple months.
I have been in this industry for 12 years scrapping and about 8 years 'professionally'. I have seen companies come and go, some who have made comebacks and some who just couldn't make it. I have seen styles of scrapbooking change many times over and have been in it long enough to see styles make comebacks. I have seen new small companies grow and expand to become giants in the industry. I have met many famous scrappers through my years and I was even on a small yahoo group with Heidi Swapp before she became a huge celebrity.
I want to extend thanks to everyone who has sent me congratulations- I look forward to sharing my work over time, and hope that I continue to grow as an artist.

 For Today:
I wanted to share this layout I made for the contest over at Magistical Memories, the contest is to use the word Lucky in the title, and use green on the layout. I used Creative Imaginations paper for my background, got this in a package from Cards mag a couple weeks ago.

I am cheap- ahem- THRIFTY- I mean, and have not bought any of the ink misters that are so popular right now, BUT I had a small spray bottle empty of hair product I cleaned out, and I have an OLD jar of Walnut Ink crystals sitting around. So I took and filled the jar with a couple teaspoons of the walnut ink crystals and added water, put the lid on and shook it up good. Then I took and cut out three various sized clovers with my cricut, and used spray adhesive to stick it temporarily to my layout. I misted it good and left it to dry. Before the end of the night, I layered on a good heavy weight and left it overnight. When it was morning, I was ready to do my layout, it was dry and mostly flat.

I cut off the ends of another diecut sheet from CI- and crumpled it- adding a shorter one to the top of the layout, and a longer to the bottom. I also added strips of teal and green cardstock, adding a punched border with the teal. Martha Stewart punch.
I outlined my clovers with pen, and put on these Magistical Memories photo corners, after I painted them, and sewed through the holes with green floss. I layered my pics on with some scrap chipboard for dimension.
To make the title, I used Colobok letters, sprayed on the walnut ink on some scrap paper, then pulled the letters off, it made a pretty cool title. I cut it out into a fancy kind of label shape, adding my buttons and put the rest of the title on with Colorbok chipboard letters. Then I wrote my journaling around the clover shape.

Have a great day!
