Getting the scraps out

If you come here to my blog often enough, you will eventually see in one of my posts, that I am all about using those scraps up. That is not why my nickname online is scrapinkris, but it fits. Why spend the money- and not use those scraps. I do get sick of seeing the same papers, and I don't do enough layouts to actually use them up, so cards are a perfect way to get all the use you can from them.  Making your own cards is more economical then buying, and totally awesome too! You can: use the smaller stickers from sticker sheets up, use scraps and strips of paper that you may have already precut, and when you are finished, you have a handmade card, ready to be personalized! Plus, have you seen the prices of cards lately?

I pulled out a couple of scrap sheets and found out that they went together perfectly! the swirl paper is American Crafts and the flourish paper is Scenic Route. The flocked Bfly paper is Anna Griffin, they all look like they are a matched set don't they! I cut my paper on an angle, adding two rows of scallops to the top of it, and then lined my bflies up going across the top. I added a silk flower to the main bfly and my button and twine. The rubon greeting I put in a punched circle that I cut off over the edge. The rubon is MM.

This card, I went again with an angle, actually cutting it off the card. Then I layered the two papers, the light blue print is the reverse of the flourish. I added a punched circle with scallop edge, and button/twine to the blfy.
I also added these MM letters, and a MOM rubon from Scenic Route. I finished the card with a thin strip of the green flourish at the bottom.

Thanks for looking!

Beautiful cards! If you hadn't told me, I would have thought those papers were from one line. Way to use those scraps!
