I don't think I've actually created a layout on my own for a couple years now. Kinda sad about that- but I got so into making cards and altered stuff- things I didn't need to think about journaling on ( that's my big hardship) and I just put off doing any layouts until I realized I just don't do it anymore. So I do want to get back into scrapping for myself again. My girls love going through my scrapbooks and looking back- I definitely don't want them to feel like it wasn't important enough for me to keep doing it. I do realize I won't be catching up anytime soon, but that's just fine with me.
I got a package from Scrapbook Trends this week with some of this My Mind's Eye paper in it. It was love themed and I just thought the colors were perfect for these old pics of my youngest.
Sorry my pic of it is a little off and it makes her look really red.
I rounded the corners of the background paper, then I added this yellow block, rounded the corners of that. I put on a strip of the dot cardstock in this peachy color- from Bobunny, and layered on the punched out borders, bending them up a bit.
NOTE: this is my changed version of this layout- finally took some in the daylight.
I punched out lots of flowers (marvy) from my scraps of yellow. They add this cool soft dimension to the yellow, really beautiful effect I think. I rounded my photo corners, and added this bracket journal spot, then put the title on it. The letters are old stash Bobunny, cept for the little cutout- that was part of a title on the punch out page ( ripped the durn thing :( one of the bad things that sometimes happens with punch out sheets)
I printed my journaling and then turned it sideways, tucking it under the pics edges and rounding the corners. I popdotted the funky heart, adding in a bobunny clear button and twine, then added two punched circles cutting the excess that hangs over the edge of the layout.
have a great day!
