Welcome Welcome! is it Black Friday already? wow- this year has really gone by quickly!
Over at Bobunny we are doing Thankful Blog Hop! To those of you coming from Rita's Blog, thanks for coming by!
What are you thankful for this year? I have so many blessings in my life. Definitely one is getting back in touch with my sister Kelly, and reconnecting with her has been such a joyous part of my life. Of course, I'm also thankful for my family's health, our home, and I can't forget my children and husband.
I wanted to share something else I believe is a blessing in my life, my love of crafting and artistic ability. Not many days go by where I feel that I need to create and just sitting down in my office- making a few cards or a more elaborate project brings me such joy.
I created this beautiful Christmas birdhouse, out of this church styled birdhouse I've had for several years- sitting there unfinished. My youngest daughter had started painting it deep burgundy, and we'd let it sit.
Recently I reclaimed it- and pulled it out to work on it.
To create it- I first used Crackle Medium and let it dry a few hours, then painted it with a rich cream acrylic, letting it dry for a couple days. ( that's just me- you can just make sure it's overnight) I added glittered fern leaves from Autumn Leaves, a few red and pearlized berry sticks from the silk flower department at the craft store, I used raffia to make my bow, and I used Bobunny Pear Double Dot paper to cut out my holly leaves. I also glittered them with light lime glitter. I also used a Bobunny Glittered Brad in the K&Co chip on the bottom. I added the K&CO chip banner to the top of the birdie hole, and called it complete.
Next on stop on the Bobunny Blog hop is Julia's Blog- check out everyone's blogs as many team members are doing small giveaways!
If you'd be so kind as to leave me a comment- I'd love to know- Do YOU do the crazy shopping on Black Friday- or do you stay at home, enjoying leftovers?
We typically decorate our house on Black Friday- I don't do crowds well- so we'll be enjoying our day trimming the trees and listening to Christmas music.
thanks for coming by!
