Playing with scraps

So here I was finishing up a project for an upcoming gcd post- oh I cannot wait to share it with you!

and I had all these scraps sitting here- and you know I don't like to just stick my papers away and get to them another day. ( hey, I'm a poet!)
so I made a couple cards, these are a little different for me- as I usually don't think of these colors as my 'style' but I love to mix it up and try on a different look

this card uses really strong colors, this dark black and a bright green. The papers and embellies are gcd studios. I used a flocked paper for the background, cutting out the black flocked bracket from a 4x6 pad of paper. I layered on another flocked frame over top that black one. I then added one of my last sewing pattern flowers with a cut out flower on top and a gem brad in the center. The Be You chipboard is lightly glittered as well. I added a bit of bobunny vintage ribbon and a crafty button. For my greeting I used some glittered foam AC letter stickers.

Next is this Friend card. I used puffy glittered letters for the greeting, wish glitter showed up better! I rounded my corners with a pair of deco scissors, adding the gcd paper and fussy cut out butterflies. I also cut out two pieces of kraft cs - one in oval shape with flat edges, one with scallop edges, and I foam taped between them. To finish it- I added a nice simple piece of twine, and put a small pearl in the center of the bow.

Last is this fun butterfly card. I cut layers of the gcd paper, adding a journal spot over the red paper. Then I added a scrap of glittered black in a square and layered on my butterfly. For the butterfly I punched a heart from one of the wings. Then I layered a scrap of the red paper underneath. I added a hand cut heart under the title letters, and finished with a strip of word paper and a twine tie with button.

Hope you have enjoyed my cards today! have a delightful weekend!
