summer fresh

what a crazy week it's been! I'm so sorry I haven't shared much this week! I have had some fun doing some new stuff- but haven 't been able to share it just yet. I hope to share it this upcoming week.

Tonight I wanted to share this cute summery layout I did with pics of Annalise. Bobunny had a blog challenge with the color orange, this is the layout I completed.
I used Bobunny papers, some kraft and white cardstock, then punched and cutout some circles with my deco scissors.

I also stamped a couple bflies with the CTMH Butterfly set you have seen so often here. I fussy cut two of the title letters since i ran out and just used the outside edges, a look I haven't done in a while! I used my Reminisce rubons for the rest of the title. I sooo hate my writing- looks so sloppy to me! But I do try to include it on some of my layouts.

tonight is the last night for trying my sketch- I will be picking a winner tomorrow of my awesome year anniversary candy box.

have a great night!

Best Wishes

This has been such a busy week for me. My house is clean, finally! but my scrap room is a wreck! I am in between trying to do some creating, both with my paper supplies and trying to create a huge huge wallhanging for my living room. I am running behind with showing you all my stuff!

For tonight, I wanted to share this cute quick lovey dovey card. I guess it would be perfect for a wedding.

I picked up these MM papers- my sister shared them with me a couple weeks ago when we went on a shopping trip to Mike's. And I've played with them on and off. I LOVE black and white- and paired with light blue or pink- PERFECTION!!
I punched the circles out, then ruffled the edges, not really a technique , just a bit of shabbiness to give them dimension. then layed them in a single line. I also crinkled the two layers of paper, just for a bit more, then machine sewed without thread. I added this sweet little Amer. Crafts journal spot, plus a Dream Street rubon for the sentiment. I put a couple of old mulberry flowers together with some primas, then added them on to a bit of ribbon I tied across. I finished with a pearl center, and a couple of those sweet clearance leaf pins.
tata for tonight!

Sat. Cardpatterns and reviewing my Bobunny project

This is our final project with Odd Bird as our sponsor, and I think so far that this card is my favorite by far! I added a bit of Anna Griffin ribbon, making a big bow at the top of the card. Then added a MM journal spot as my background paper. I added a bit of this vintage song image, then added some bits of cardstock I punched with my Martha punch, then inked the edges.
I had painted and glittered my wooden goose, then added the ribbon bow at it's neck. The greeting is Basic Grey letters. I love how this turned out!!

I also wanted to share this birthday gift set I made to showcase on the Bobunny blog.

I used some older patterns of paper on this, these two papers from older collections, Smitten and Felicity. I loved the Smitten paper because I wanted to cut out the flowers. I used my long term borrowed *smirk* butterfly stamps- my sister Kelly lent them to me a while ago- they are CTMH stamps- Butterflies. I also used some Bobunny stamps- the beautiful swirl stamp. It's a clear stamp- and I also used a technique of triple stamping the image before reinking- to give it a shadowed and lighter look.

This provo craft frame was super cheap, and I used the same color stamp ink on the sides of the unfinished frame, it really looks nice and ties in all the colors. When I stamped the Bflies, I also covered them with glitter. I bought this Darice jumbo bottle of glitter glue at Joanne's- and it lasts forever, plus it's WAY cheaper then Stickles- so I use that a LOT! I also added dots of the glitter in the middle of the flowers.
I fussy cut the flowers, and folded the flowers and leaves for dimension. I added in a few gem strips and swirls to the frame, just to add a bit more glitz.
Lastly I added a brown gingham bow and topped it with a button.
The phrase I found, and you can certainly find many more personalized quotes on the internet.

The card is made pretty much the same as the frame, then I trimmed the edges of the card and paper with my cloud scissors, never have owned a corner rounder.
The stickers are MM and Scenic Route. I added in a touch more older Bobunny gingham ribbon.

Have a fantastic evening!
I've got a movie date with my hubby- just the two of us curled up on the couch watching a flick.

My sketch version

If you came to my blog last week, you know I'm going to give away some Blog Candy for my one year anniversary. And that I did a sketch challenge to mix up the fun! I decided to try a little more inspiration- so I made a card with my own sketch! I bought these adorable little Colorbok stickers today, and I matched them up with some Dream Street paper, and some Bobunny Dot cardstock. I added a bit of cardstock behind the cherries, then added some red gems to them, and used my deco scissors on the mats. The red gingham is a bit of older Bobunny ribbon, and the greeting is another sticker from the package.
Then I scrunched up the reverse of the cherry paper and used that as my border, tying a bit of red floss at the bottom.
Hope you like my fun and sweet little card!
Please try my sketch and add your link in my comments, I've only had a few try the sketch so far, you have until Aug. 1 to try it!
thanks for looking!

Eye Am Seeing Eyelets

I don't know about you- but there are just some things that stick with you for life. When I was a kid, watching the news on WJZ in Baltimore- there was a song that they revamped for a certain weather man- the song was My Girl- by the temptations- and they sang-
I've got sunshine on a cloudy day
When it's cold outside, I've got the month of May
I'd guess you'd say
What can make me feel this way..... BOB TURK, whoa whoa, Bob Turk! and it's stuck with me all these long years.
So of course I was singing along with my memories as I was making this sunshine card!
I wanted to play along with the challenge over at Cute Card Thursday- my first time playing,
and their challenge was to use eyelets on your creation. When I looked at this Amer. Crafts paper I thought of a sun with these dotted circles, so I made it the main part of my card.

I added strips of Bobunny dot cardstock as the rays, piercing them all. I also added these K&CO chipboard glittered clouds, I have a couple close ups to show the glitter off.
I also added an Amer. Crafts label, then some EKsuccess letters in green and MM tiny type letters for the Hey There part. My We R Memory Keepers eyelets were punched and set with a cropadile- HEART HEART HEART that tool- well worth it's cost. and to finish the piece I added a bobunny button to the middle of the sun.
thanks for coming over!!

Cuttlebug Recycle Challenge

Hmm- I had read this challenge and was all prepared to do an altered item, then I reread it- and realized that it needed to be something recycled! EEk!
Time to revamp my game plan!
Since I was out this morning- I treated myself to one of those Frapacchinos' in a bottle. mmmm good- and it was sitting right in front of me- the best place for inspiration. I had bought peanuts to make into candied peanuts and ta dah! there is my sweet little gift!

I wrapped the bottle with Bobunny cardstock embossed with my Spots and Dots folder, then some Amer. Crafts paper. I added a strip of white cardstock, which I stamped with some The Paper Company candle stamps I colored with sharpie markers. Then I cut out another Amer. Crafts paper for the stars. I added a bit of thin ribbon and some Bobunny buttons to the stars. The greeting is another Paper Company stamp from a birthday set.

I cut this card out using a template I made by cutting out a star using my Cricut and my Plantin cartridge, cut to 6 inches and put on roly poly. Then I folded some green cardstock and made the card by tracing the star and cutting out. I added more of the Paper Company stamps ( the candles and greeting), plus more AC papers on the card.

The recipe I used for the candied peanuts-

2 cups peanuts
1/2 cup brown sugar
4 tblsp. of heavy cream.
Mix together in bowl, place in single layer on sheet pan. Preheat oven to 350 degrees and bake for 20 minutes, stir then bake another 10 minutes. Remove from oven, all to cool and break into pieces, store in airtight container.

Tiny Baby Card

I had some fun today looking for a couple challenges, so here is one I found at CardALicious today. The team members have gorgeous cards! The challenge is a baby card with ribbon and stitching. Well my card has faux stitching!

I pulled out some older stash and newer stuff as well. I cut the cardstock, then punched the circles that I edged along the card. Then used some Dream Street papers on the front of the card, the rubon is also Dream Street. I added some pearls to the phrase after I popdotted it. I also added the Bobunny stash ribbon, and put a bow with a leaf pin through it. The pin holds on the small rubon Anna Griffin heart I cut out with my scalloped scissors. I also added on a rubon lamb from Anna Griffin, I used a small gem for it's eye.

Then I added a little scalloped trim and used my paper piercer to add my faux stitching, tracing a line with a colored pencil to make it look like thread.

Thanks for coming by!

Caardvarks

I came upon this new Caardvarks challenge today, so I thought I'd play along with some cute new and cute stash things!

The card is a circle, then I added punched circles to the edges to give me the scallops. I pierced along the outside edges of the white petals. Then I added a circle of Dream Street paper to the center, and pierced the outside edge of that circle. I use these jumbo uphostery needles that I found in somewhere. They are in 3 sizes, around 8, 10 and 12 inches long- and that gives me a nice amount to hold onto to keep from having that tired hand. The greeting is another Dream Street product, a rubon. The bunny is also a rubon- but from Anna Griffin and I cut it out after putting it on some cardstock. Then I popdotted it, and added the greeting to a strip of paper that I cut the corners off to make an arrow like shape. The ribbon is a bit of leftover Bobunny stash. And the glittered flower is one left from a K&CO sheet of stickers. And finally the leaf pin is a clearance item I bought yesterday. Thanks for looking!

So much to share today!!

wow! I've got fun stuff to share!! first is my card from the Cuttlebug challenge this week! This sketch was created by 2red bananas and I really liked it. So I broke out my American Crafts clearance pack that I bought last week and had fun fussy cutting out the flowers, then pop dotting them. I love love love love this color combo. And I'm trying to show off my white cards so I thought I'd take a pic on some black cardstock, really helped to pop my card out! I used an Amer. Crafts clear journal sticker that I also then cut out around and some white Reminisce stickers I colored over with my Sharpie pens, love coloring stuff to suit my needs. Used the Swiss Dots folder, and punched out the corners with a circle punch. I also added some itty bitty pearls to the flowers, which is great because I don't often use that size so I have tons!

Second today- do you have a garden? we have a small one- which is now brimming with weeds I'm sad to say- but our cucumbers are thriving- good thing we love them so much - we have about 6 new ones a day! Apparently we've missed this MONDO cuke for a while now.

I found it in there this morning, no kidding the thing is about as big around as Annalise's leg!! What I'm amazed at is- we planted pickling cukes- so they would be smaller, most of them are about half the size of your grocery store cukes- so I'm worried this big 'un will be bitter- but we'll have to wait til Daddy gets home to show him!
Next - have you seen Bobunny's new releases yet? We've been releasing them all week. I wanted to shout out about the couple sticker sheets I designed! So so happy to be asked to create more and am so proud to be a part of this company! For today tho- I wanted to share the cutout sheets for the new collections.
There is Flutter Butter- cute cute name. Have you seen the diecut papers for this- WOW!!
Delilah- gorgeous pinks and oranges! have you seen the awesome tree/mum stamp with this?
Gypsy- the teals and oh the browns and peach! gorgeous designs on this collection.
Tis the Season-red green and light blue- love brights for Cmas!! the rectangled tree stamp is A.Dor.Able!
BOO Crew the skeleton is darling and I love all the googly eyes- this is a super cute collection!
Kitchen Spice- oh my!! perfect for recipes and grandmother pages, but probably going to be one of my favorite fall collections EVAH!!
St. Nick- a beautiful heritage looking Cmas collection!! I love the paper with santa in an old fashioned car!

Have a funtastic day!

Is it back to school already?

nah not quite yet- but my oldest is going to a jump start program this week at middle school- just a fun half day for a few days to get used to the whole new schedule and school.
So we're up at the crack of day to get ready- ok- ok- when you are used to sleeping in- and enjoying it sooo sooo much! waking up at 6 am is too early!! I actually was awakened at 5 am this morning- to the oh so nasty smell of a nearby skunk. EWWW! it usually suprises me several times over the summer, since we're using a window fan and not the AC at night.
I'm sharing my bonus card today from the Cardpatterns sketch this week. Shortcuts was so generous with the team so Michelle asked us to design a few cards to showcase their awesome product! I just had to play with more of my Dream Street stuff- I know I'm just using it so much lately- but it's great fun to work with! I used a couple scraps of paper, then added the circle with scalloped mat cut with my deco scissors. I also added a tiny bit of this satin ribbon that I've had forever!! I put two cute little MM pins in the bow, and added Dream Street rubons to the circle, then finished with a couple buttons.

If you haven't checked out the Bobunny blog lately, head over there next! We are debuting new lines and products! SO many wonderful things to look at! and I was asked to design a few sticker sheets, so I'm extra proud to be a part of such a wonderful company!

take care!

The winner's creation will be displayed on my blog with the announcement! Feel free to link me on your blog, spread the word!!

Please leave a direct link to your creation in my comments section- Mr. Linky isn't being reliable so I don't want to use it. Any indirect links will be deleted. Thank you for playing along!!

This package includes lots of stickers, letter stickers, rubons, chipboard stickers, new and older product, an entire alphabet of 6 inch letters from Bobunny, chipboard and more. If I have over 25 entries in my sketch challenge, I will make another fabulous package up and have two winners!!

This is only the beginning in giveaways for me, I have pulled aside many many fantastic products to giveaway over the next several months! So please do keep coming back and checking to see when I post them!

Last but not least is our CardPatterns cards today! Our sketch was sponsered again by Odd Bird Planet, and I loved that I layered the vintage images on this card. I also made a sewing pattern paper flower- Dawne asked if I made one last week- yes - they are super simple. Simply take and cut out several circles from your sewing paper, I actually did three sizes of circles, cutting out about 3 circles per size, then punched a hole in the middle and added this great vintage brad from Bobunny. Then I scrunched the whole thing in my hand, and worked the layers a bit to make it look more like a flower. I finished it off with some stickles glue. I added some older Bobunny ribbon and my tiny type letters to finish the card.

Thanks for coming by today!
have a great Saturday!
