Dream Street Cards

Sharing a few of my cards I did for the Dream Street Guest Designership. I love the colors of the Heartsong line, so vibrant but not over bright. isn't the word paper too sweet! I used my scallop scissors for the mat on the white cardstock, pop dotting it up for dimension. I also used my cloud scissors on the tiny bit of orange paper to have just the smallest bit of that sticking out from the border. I handcut the hearts out, pop dotted them and added them down in the bottom corner. The xoxoxo is a DS rubon. Then I took a nice long strip of paper and folded it on itself as an accent. To finish it off- I added some Bobunny Double Dot ribbon to the edge.
The rubons from the heartsong collection are very Dutch looking, so I added this on to the center of my kraft oval and added tiny dots of stickles to give it some sparkle. I added more kraft in a strip then did another long rubon on that, adding stickles again to the teal parts. Just a touch of glitter really makes an impact! I added the word rubon, and cut out a heart and popdotted it to finish it off. For the rest of the card, I used my martha punch, added some bobunny double dot ribbon and those little buttons with wax floss.

This card is a little busy for me- I think I have too much going on on it.I crinkled the green paper, then added a pink mat and tore the edges of that. Adding another scallop to that I layered it all onto a kraft card base. I used the large rubon from Forever Family- again- all Dream Street papers and rubons for this post today. Then I added the rubon phrase and added a book label to that. Some old Bobunny ribbon on the book label. Then I added a glittered MM heart, the bflies are also DS rubons that I fussy cut and added gems to. I finished it off with some Martha flocked sticker letters.

Thanks for coming by! have a great day!

Sat Card Patterns

A little belated - but here it is! Again we were sponsered by Odd Bird Planet, and had these fun designs to work with. I used the vintage goosy gander image and played off that- making it into a baby card. Added in lots of touches of lace, a stamped greeting from Cornish Heritage Farms, and my wonderful Martha eyelet punch. The Odd Bird kit came with these neat little tiny eggs, so I made a nest with them and some DMC floss, and glued them to the corner.

Thanks for stopping by- happy monday to ya!

Some new fun paper

Not long ago I had the pleasure of shopping with my sister Kelly
and we found some nice stuff- tho it certainly wasn't bargain shopping- I guess Michaels new 'policy' is- mark it clearance for the regular price and stick it in the bins so the customer can't find the regular pricing, therefore not realizing that it's simply overstock and NOT really clearance!
Once we figured that out I think we still did pretty ok - and we shared some of the packages we purchased. Some of it was this very beautiful K&CO paper- it's metallic, and glittered, and flocked- all sorts of pretty pretty to play with! For this top card, I cut out the flocked medallion and put it on my card, almost envelope-like. I used a K&CO pearl, and some Anna Griffin ribbon. I also used a flower from Prima that I bought- cant see it- but I glittered it- so pretty! I think the rubon is MM and I used some MM stick pins as well.

I decorated the inside as well, with a few strips of paper, a Bobunny rubon saying and another type of prima flower.

These beautiful little journal spots are double sided, one side metallic print the other plain. So I added a bit of Bobunny cardstock and placed it for my background on my card. I cut the blfy out of some paper then used metallic thread on my button to match the gold metallic of the paper.
The sticker and ribbon are both Bobunny, I used gluedots to adhere the ribbon in the scrunched shape.

I cut out another blfy from the patterned paper, added a couple brads and rubons from One Heart.. One Mind and Reminisce.

Thanks for stopping in!
have a great one!

Live in the Moment

this layout designed with Dream Streets Heartsong collection was so fun to make! I curled edges, fussy cut rubons out, handcut and popdotted the clouds from word paper, added stitched buttons, punched circles for a scalloped border, added glitter to that scalloped border, used some old stash Scenic Route chipboard letters and a piece of notebook paper, handstitched a few cross stitches and used my sewing machine with no thread- in other words- I had fun playing! LOL!

hope you enjoyed my layout!
have a great day!

Dream Street Guest Designer for June!!

whoo hoo! please share the excitement I feel when I tell you that my guest spot is up and posted for this month on the Dream Street Blog!! Click here to see the whole post!
Or don't - and I'll share everything I made right here in the next week or so! LOL! :)
The collection for this set is called Secret Garden- oh my gosh- it is so gorgeous!! I love all the soft colors. I added a stamp borrowed from my sister Kelly- a CTMH set called Butterflies. I glittered the butterflies and the flower centers, those flowers were some old daisies I'd had forever. I cut out some ovals with my templates and added the scalloped edges with scissors.
I added in buttons sewn on. Some beautifully coordinating Bobunny dot ribbon, some Martha pearls and eyelet punch for the edging. The words are all rubons from the collection, and I also used some AC Glitter Thickers- love those!!

I punched 1 inch circles for scallops- inserting them under the edge of the paper. The clear pail I bought at Michaels- which i keep looking for and not seeing anymore. BUT it's ok- I guess I'd buy too many of them! LOL!
I filled the tin with Lifesavers mints- wintergreen- yummy! I was thinking of giving this away- but the girls LOVE it and really enjoy going in to get mints now and again- that I'm being selfish and keeping it for me! LOL!

Thank you fo much from coming by today!

more baby

s'more baby cards! I love the colors of this Dream Street collection- Lullaby.
So I'm still using up some scraps- and have so much left- I guess I'll be making more sometime soon. This card I made by cutting the strip of paper like a ribbon, then adding the rubon to the edge. Then I cut a Bobunny Clear Chunky charm, and glittered it- love that! added in an old old old mulberry flower, it's purplish and I would never have used it. On top of that some Making Memories pins anda simple bow and button. The rubon is Dream Street, but the cream letters for baby are Bobunny- more stash being used!

This next one turned out pretty cute as well. I love how the black gingham ribbon pulls your eye. Then you see the yellow handcut stars and Bobunny chunky charm swirls that I also glittered. the teeny tiny rubon is also Dream Street. By the way- I dusted off my templates- and have been using the heck outta them, since I'm not blessed to have bought all those wonderful Nestabilities diecuts- you can still have ovals and circles, just trace them and handcut them, it only takes a few minutes more - then I add them to more paper, trim around with deco scissors and it's close enough for me to a Nesties image.

Have a super wonderful day!

Baby cards

I am infatuated with these Lullaby Dream Street papers! oh so yummy for baby designs and the colors are simply wonderful!
Dream Street sent me 5 gorgeous collections and were so generous as well. I created with 4 collections, and had put this one aside. So I want to create lots of items with it! The papers/rubon are all Dream Street on this card, but I used my martha eyelet punch- getting lots of use outta that! I added in some old stash ribbon- think it's Lil Davis? A new chunky chipboard frame from Bobunny, a glittery K&CO bfly sticker, some buttons and pearl head pins. LOVE this card!!

This card is so super sweet! Again, Dream Street with some handcut stars I popdotted on there- with a Dream Street rubon phrase, then I used some Bobunny Dot ribbon, some buttons, a bit of cardstock, and my martha punch.

That's all for today, come back tomorrow for more baby cards!
I'm trying to set up posts for everyday- instead of one huge pic heavy post- several days or more a week posting one or two items- what do you think of that?
Have a wonderful day!

Baby Gift Set

Sometime in the next week or so, my guest spot for Dream Street designs will be up on their blog. The company was so generous with me! They sent me 5 huge collections of paper, and I still have tons of their papers left, so I wanted to continue using them.
I got out the Lullaby collection and created this sweet set. Sorry for the dark dull pics, it's raining here AGAIN and I'd like for the sun to come out and shine on us a bit sometime soon.
I used all Dream Street papers and rubons, adding in some Martha felt sticker, and some glitter glue, on the circle and the lines on the card.

This box is actually recycling a Poptarts box, I covered it with the cardstock and added in some scalloped paper to the top, you could certainly add a ribbon handle on there but I left it as handle-less. It makes this nice wide small box that could hold lots of small baby items.
This little card is more on the simple side for me, but I'm happy to go that way once in a while. I handcut the heart and added some scalloped edges to it.

Thanks for dropping in today!

Cardpatterns today

Today our Cardpatterns sketch is done by ..... ME!! tee hee!
Our sponsor Odd Bird Planet, sent us generous packages to play with and for my first card I used the pattern piece included in the kit as background paper. I also used this antique image that has numbers printed all over it. I added a bit of floss to the heritage buttons she included and added in some Martha flocked sticker letters. There were teeny tiny flowers included, so I've added them in a little bunch there. Thought this would make a super mother's day card.

This past week my oldest Alizabeth graduated elementary school, she looked so beautiful and grown up with her hair pulled to the side for the ceremony. The colors of her dress really worked well with her skin too! what you can't see in the pics is the cute flower that I made for her hair, shades of brown and orange for that flower- just like the ones I made earlier in the week.
Alizabeth acted as a valedictorian, giving a speech to the assembled parents, teachers and students. Her speech was wonderful and she received many compliments after the ceremony. She also received 12 awards that evening, including her second place winning entry for the state media festival for her podcast. Her most proud moment that evening was getting her pin and certificate for the Presidential Academic Excellence award.

That's all I have to share today, have a wonderful day!

Teacher Gifts

I puzzle over what to give the teachers at the end of the year. This year especially, since Alizabeth is moving on to middle school next year and she has really had some great relationships with several of her teachers. I typically send in homebaked goods to the teachers on a regular basis, but still wanted to send in something small for them.
So I came up with the idea of treat jars. I found these canning jars for less then $9 for a case of them- giving me more money to spend on the treats. Went to Bj's and bought several bags of Dove, and Hershey's chocolates, then mixed them. I filled the jars with those chocolates- what teacher doesn't enjoy some chocolates!!
I started out with good intentions-was going to alter every three jars differently so that the teachers would be getting pretty unique jars, and I wouldn't get bored- BUT I ended up doing a few jars different- then having to just finish the rest the same as I needed to get them done, and just wasn't going to have the time to play as I had planned.
This first jar ended up being my bulk look- my sister Kelly and I spent the day together and went bargain shopping in Michaels discount section- we bought some things and split them- so I have her to thank for the Making Memories papers I used- the GORGEOUS butterfly ribbon- which has sparkles on it!!- was clearance for $1 a roll!!!! I used Kelly's CTMH Butterflies set and stamped in Staz On on the light pink paper- then I glittered the life outta those little butterflies- cut them out and glued only the centers to the jar. I added some scallop scissor cut ovals, a few simple buttons with floss, and a tag to the jar. I had Alizabeth write a short thank you note to the teacher it was for- and wah- la!! one down - 11 to go! LOL!
Here is the lid for this- just a cut out scallop circle with a blfy.
Alizabeth has two male teachers- both music- and I wanted them to have a masculine looking jar, so I broke out my old star punch and cut circles on my circut- I used some beautiful SEI papers, and added a computer printed sentiment, and some sewed on buttons.

This was actually my first set- I broke out my MM Chloe's Closet that I bought on sale- and made two jars up- but as I said- time ran out and I had to get these jars done. All Chloe's Closet papers, and I added in some buttons too.

I know it's probably a little late for ideas for end of school for most of you out there- we ended up being extended this year. But- these would make great christmas gifts next year- just make sure you have plenty of time to work on them! LOL!
have a great day!

Flower Power!

I love my girls having cute hair embellishments, but wow- they can be so pricey! And I really cant seem to find colors that match their outfits all the time. BUT if you make your own, there are so many possibilities out there, you can mix and match to create new looks, or go simple to accent one color. Today I'm gonna show you how I made these adorable flower clips- with stuff I simply had laying around the house!!
Annalise looked A.DOR.ABLE with her hair in these messy buns and the flower clips in her hair, she received lots of compliments from her teachers and friends!

First, you need.
flowers- I used the wonderful ones from Bobunny, they have a multitude of sizes- and I already had about 7 million of them here :)
You'll need a hair clip- I used these pressure ones that the girls never wear.
Some DMC floss or thread- something with a little thickness- dont' want these breaking apart.
A button, a clear bobunny worked for me- but you can make it a patterned one, or a coordinating color.
A needle- again - just big enough in the eye for the floss to go through- face it- I just didn't want to bother with seperating the threads.

First I threaded my needle- I used blue thread to match the flowers- again- be creative if it floats your boat.
Going from the largest flower, I threaded the center hole in the flower with the needle, simply stacking the smaller flowers on.

When I got to my top flower, I laced through the button holes, and went back through the center hole again to the back of the flower.

Pull the ends nice and tight- then give them a simple knot- so it's all nice and tight.

Lace the two ends through the open part of the clip.

Then tie your knot onto the middle piece- I didn't use any- but a couple dots of glue can ensure that this flower will never come off the clip- but I just knotted it very tightly and let it be.

Clip off the excess thread.

Decorate as you'd like- I added some pre glued gems to mine- got those at Michaels in a package for $1.99. You can glue on gems, add glitter, maybe even add ribbons to the underneat that would hang down. Be creative- but DANG these are CUTE! so try them if you've got some little ones- or maybe make one for yourself- how pretty they are against a side bun, or bun in the back of your hair- PERFECT for summertime!

have a wonderful day!

Super saturday

Today is this cute cardpatterns card! I loved these birdies and the branch from the set we were allowed to chose from- our sponsor My Grafico was so generous! I used my photoprogram to layer the stamps and erased the backgrounds so that the two images appear to merge into one stamp, then flipped and layered a second birdie on to the branch, then printed it out three times onto teal, aqua and lime cardstocks. Then I cut out and layered with foam tape. Final touches of glitter glue really make it sparkle. I also added a old stash button, some cross stitch stamp from Bobunny, and Colorbok patterned papers. The rubon letters are old stash too. The ribbon has touches of glitter on it as well- but I just bought that from Michaels this week.

This cute frog layout was on the bobunny blog for pet layouts- I picked a temporary pet- this frog/toad- I don't know the difference- that was in our yard last year. He was pretty nice and only had one eye!! I used bobunny's U bug Me line - and cut out and pop dotted the solid froggies, this was such a fun layout to create!! I really like how my layout came together.

Ad inspiration!! this was such a fun challenge! I found this sweet little ad in one of my craft mags, and liked so many of the details of it- for how I matched it up with my layout- check out the bobunny blog post - and see the other great layouts by the rest of the team.

I used the brand spankin' new Mango Luau papers on this layout- I fussy cut a lot of the flowers out, bending the petals for dimension. Love the colors in this line!! So much fun! I handwrote my journaling- blech- and part of the title. I used some older pics of my girls- back when they liked dressing alike. They were so cute together!!

Thanks for stopping by! have a great weekend!

At long last..

What a crazy messed up week it's been. I'm truely sorry for the delay in picking a winner for my blog candy giveaway, but here it is...

commenter #2!!! AUsome mom!!! Congrats!! please email me using the link to the side with your info so I can get that package out.

Cardpatterns today- Sketch 18! wow - can't believe we're already that far here! Michelle makes the BEST sketches and I love designing with them.
I went simple this week- just a clean classic look. I used some bobunny calypso papers, lots of cardstock. I used some older prima flowers- and a WAYYYY old walnut inked tag!! usin' up that stash!! I also used a CTMH stamp from the April Word Puzzle set, the stem- and my colobox ink. A bit of twine, and a few tiny type letters from MM finishes it off.

I made this love card using Flair papers- I fussy cut the rose out- and layered it. I also used a bit of bobunny double dot. some bobunny ribbon, AC glitter letters, button, and MM tiny type letters finish it. I handcut those leaves and dotted them with a black pen.

we've had a really dark and gloomy week- so pardon my dark and gloomy pics! LOL!

this is another Flair card, made with baby papers, I handcut the clouds, popdotted some and fussy cut the clothes line- how cute is that! then I added MM letters and a little bit of MM gem line.

lastly for Flair, is another baby card, cutting out the clothes line, and the block letters. I layered my Martha eyelet punch and curled the edges up a bit- love love that look!!

This layout I made for Bobunny's blog- using the Calypso line- beautiful line isn't it? I love those flowers so I cut lots of them out and curled the edges to give each flower it's own seperate dimension. Check out the blog to see some other gorgeous projects created with this line!!

lastly today- I am going to be the June Guest Designer for DreamStreet designs! not only am I thrilled to have been asked, but when I got my package, the designs are just GORGEOUS!! I have had such a great time playing with their products and cannot wait until my big reveal, until then, here is a little sneak peak of what I've made, come back soon to see them!!
