100th post!

wow! time has flown by since I started this blog back in July! here it is smack dab in the middle of the holidays, so I have decided to give away some blog candy!
first I want to share my 2s4y card- Laura's sketch was awesome as always this week- and I had fun using green and red, but not making it christmasy. I used some stash here- some Around the Block chipboard flowers, which I added Prima flowers to the top of. lots of felt - some which I cut into leaves, and some bobunny and Scenic Route paper. The letter stickers are Making Memories.

On to the candy! um- it's a big- yeah-jumbo, giant, rockin' huge amount of goodies. There are products from We R Memory Keepers, Anna Griffin, SRM Press, Around the Block, Doodlebug, Creative Imaginations, and Reminisce. I have included papers from Reminisce- NEW hallographic Enchanted Autumn, shimmery The Love Collection papers, and some beautiful shabby Snow Globe papers, along with lots of ribbon and embellishments. ( Snow globe will be perfect for those new Christmas layouts!)

TO WIN- just leave me a comment! I will let this run to Jan. 15th- and then pull a random number-multiple comments are welcome! I can't afford international shipping right now- so we'll just keep this one to US residents .

have a terrific monday!

Monday sketch

Good Monday morning- it's sketch reveal day over at 2s4y! this lovely sketch by Kazan was fun to work with. She asked us all to use products that reminded us of summer. I pulled out my SEI papers and had fun creating this card, love that orange tag. I'm not much for using any kind of fruit designs, so it was fun to give a stretch to my creativity. I also cut a heart , added some pearls, some pink Bobunny stickers and some stash corrugated cardboard.

I have been feverishly working on an assignment that I will share details about soon. It's very exciting for me!!
Also- this is my 99th post! I have to gather up my blog candy- but come back soon- I will post details and pics of the candy I plan to give away to celebrate my 100th post.
have a wonderful day!

Tick Tock tick tock

oh it's getting close- are you ready? have you wrapped the last gift? baked the perfect amount of cookies, sent all your christmas cards, spent time with family that you don't often get to see, drank your eggnog and noshed on some delicious holiday fare ?

i think we're ready- tho it's definately been a year that we've pulled things off at the last moment. We made lots of sugar cookies today- yum yum yum! last night we went out to look at all the wonderful lights and driving home through the town, came apon a herd of Santas- I think there may have been 15- 20 of them- all college kids as it's a college town- but it put a huge smile on all our faces!

I want to share some Bobunny projects with you from the last few weeks on the blog. Check out the work done by the other DT members- they are so amazing- I love the amazing talent that these girls have!

First is my Believe holly ornament, done with layers of cardstock and heavy weight paper, it's really sturdy, then I stitched it along the edges and up the vein line of the leaf. I also added glitter along the stitching lines- so it's sparkly as well. I hand drew these leaves, just a simple holly leaf. then I added some bobunny buttons and rubons, added on the Believe rubon and some glittery gems. I love how it turned out- so happy and cute.

next to share is this layout using the Believe line, I used the paper with the word believe - then I traced over that with glitter glue, so it was also very sparkly. I used a soft action in a photo program on my photo and i love how pretty and sweet it made the pic of Annalise. I also used gorgeous Anna Griffin velvet ribbon, lots of bobunny stuff- rubons- isn't that tree yummy!! and the buttons and stickers too. I added some punch stars and gems to the tree as well.Last is this gift set- box and tag that I made- the tin would be wonderful with some homemade goodies, the wrap simply slips on and off. I added some rubons and a snowflake from Bazzill, more bobunny ribbon, some gems and stickers too.

thanks for stopping by- hope your week and holiday ahead are filled with love, joy and special memories!

Only 10 days!

Just 10 days til Christmas! are you ready- I'm not- usually by this point I'm kicking back and am pretty much ready for it- but this year with the finiancial differences, I'm still getting the last few things, wrapping the last few gifts, searching for one more thing. it's exciting isn't it!
today is reveal day on our sketches for 2s4y, this week was Lauras sketch and I decided to stray from Christmas just a bit- and found this pack of gorgeous Anna Griffin papers I had. The cream paper is embossed with flowers and I just loved it. Then I found the adorable little felt sticker and had my idea. the green paper and rubon are both also Anna Griffin. then I added in a few buttons, some pearls from Micheals and some sewing and hemp.

today I wanna boast about A- she is so talented- I have little music ability and am so impressed with her. Last year, in the middle of the year, she joined band ( we moved here in late Nov.) and by February she received her flute, two months later, she was First Chair in Flute in the band. This year, she has continued on and is not only First Chair in Flute in the band, but is also First Chair in Band. which is kinda like the best player in the band. ( she's also in the chorus)Today is winter concert and she dressed for the occasion, isn't she a cutie!! this along with me having to get her an emergency weekend visit at AI Dupont hosp. this weekend for a bad sinus infection- thank goodness for antibiotics!
Also this weekend- Annalise got her first pair of glasses. My kids- both got cruddy eyesight from their parents! Annalise is so excited to really see well, and its been fun watching her see things far off clearly now. love this pair- they are just big enough that she can grow and they won't bend up on her face, but not too big either. I think she looks so grown up.
Have a wonderful Monday and hope you enjoy your week!

Creative today

Happy Friday! I was feeling pretty creative today- and no- I'm stilllllllll not done cleaning up my office- but little by little it's getting done. I still have one manufacturers paper to get put away- then it's just a matter of organizing all my alterable items and finished projects. And of course finding good ways to sort my little things and scraps.
I worked with lots of Anna Griffin today- love love love her stuff- it's gorgeous and lush and stunning! So everything below is Anna G unless I mention otherwise.

I made this ornament with diecut punchouts- these are glittered and soo beautiful! I backed two together and then added one of these folded rounds that I glittered the ends of, then I added a button tied with some hemp and several of these teeny tiny bells that I found in my stash! I also added this glittered button word, Believe. Then tied it off with a silvery blue bit of bobunny ribbon.
This jolly snowman vellum piece is so cute! I added in some corrugated paper, old from my stash! then I added a bobunny ribbon. some buttons with hemp bows, in the corners, and a 3d sticker, which I added some red gems to.

this definately did NOT photograph all the glitter on these beautiful snowflakes, but know that it's there! I popdotted the top one on, then added a ghost snowflake, and a button snowflake with a bit of hemp tied in a bow underneath. added a bit of bobunny green ribbon, and a button. for the background, lots of layers, including more of that corrugated cardboard paper, and I added in a little strip for the greeting, again- Anna G rubons, with some generic brads.

this is the last one I can share today. again- all Anna Griffin, with the exception of that corrugated paper, and the brads, which are MM. I added two of those tiny jingle bells to the button and a bit of cherry stickles to the holly berries.
thanks for dropping by today! hope your weekend is FABULOUS! christmas is getting closer and closer and next week is all the school things we'll be attending.
Please leave me a comment to let me know you've stopped by!

Rainy Thursday

Happy Thursday- we are having a storm system sit here- it was raining all day yesterday and now again today. Kinda hope it ends soon, I have some running around to do and I don't feel like getting soaked while doing it. Better rain then snow tho!
I have been purging my office this week- like I didn't have enough to do- I decided to try to reorganize it to make it easier to use things- I have lots of stuff I just don't pull out to play with enough. I'm also finding lots of fun stuff I had tucked away- and of course right when I have my table stacked full of stuff-threatening to topple- I feel the overwhelming urge to create! or perhaps it was the overwhelming urge to stop dealing with my plethora of stuff and hide from it.
ehh- I'll go with the first one! LOL!
I found some awesomely cute Doodlebug stickers and tags, and made these cute wraps for some candy I wanted to give the teachers.
Now I don't have pics of the process- but I assure you- they were so simple to make!
I simply picked out my materials- Bobunny cardstock and ribbons, WRMK eyelets ( i used the cropadile tool to punch and set the eyelets) Bobunny paper- from the sweetie pie line, Doodlebug stickers and chipboard, and some buttons and twine, and a few brads.

I used some treat bags I bought at the craft store- folded them over and stapled them- because they were wayyyy too long for my treats-
the treats- are Junior Mints Deluxe mints- they are shaped like chocolate covered cherries- but basically are whopper junior mints-
"Who's gonna turn down a Junior Mint? It's chocolate, it's
peppermint-- it's *delicious*!"
name that show!

Now for the instructions-
cut a 11.5x4 piece of cardstock, measure from bottom, and mark at 4.5 and 6 inches, then again, mark at 10.5 inches. These will be your scored lines- go ahead and score them. I used my Scor- It tool and it was great, so easy. Fold your two lines- the ones at 4.5 and 6 inches, those will be the bottom of the wrap. The top fold is the flap- glue that down or leave it open- up to you.
You can also put in your eyelet at this point- then you can thread your ribbon through it.
now decorate it- soo simple.

I also worked on Heidi's bonus sketch at 2sketches4 you this week. Here is my take on her sketch- I veered off somewhere in the middle, but it was a great sketch- I guess I got distracted. Paper is Crate Paper and Scenic Route, tear out is Making Memories, ribbon is Anna Griffin and Bobunny, bird is Martha Stewart, letters are MAMBI and MM.

I also made this card this week, wanted to do something bright and fun- sorry for the lousy dim pics - it's cloudy here. SEI paper, some Hambly prints acetate, Queen and Co. felt, bobunny and MM letters, bobunny ribbon . My usual button and hemp. I added gems to the flowers which I really like that look.
thanks for stopping by- wish me luck in getting most of my mess cleaned up by tomorrow!
have a great day!

Scor- It Project

I don't know about you- but I spent last week in a flurry of activity. I'm so looking forward to a little down time today, before it starts again for me this week. I'm taking the morning off to just chillax a little before I get started on a huge mound of laundry and finish wrapping gifts. We went to hubby's work Ice Cream with Santa party this weekend- the kids loved it- and I got some cute pics of course.
Today on 2sketches4you is our Scor-It project showcase. I made a nugget box, you know, those delectable little morsels of Hershey's chocolates that can be decorated up and given as a sweet gift. I made this to send to the HR lady at Dh's work in thanks for her extra efforts at the Ice Cream party, thought it would be a nice little giftie.
The papers are Bobunny Unforgettable, which just is such a beautiful line. I cut the flowers from the paper, then added a Hambly Print clear label as a tag, some Making Memories little stickers, some buttons and twine, and a gingerbread girl from a kit I've been making with slick paints. She can be hung on a tree when she's taken off the package- an extra little present. The ribbons are all bobunny.
To make the box, get out your papers, cutter and Scor-It.
My nugget box was 3x4 inches, and held 3 layers of 9 nuggets- which is 27 nuggets. I cut the paper for the bottom of the box at 7x8 inches. I scored the box all the way on each side at 2 inches, which was nice to use the little stopper that the kit came with. Place your paper right side down for scoring.
Then I cut up the short sides on the score marks to the point they intersected the other lines. And fold against the score lines. The two little flaps will be your glue points for the box.
Here is the box partially put together.
Fill it with mounds of deliciousness.... I got a mixed bag, the chocolate with almonds and toffee is my favorite.
Next cut your top size to 5 1/8 and 6 1/8 inches. You will score the box at 1 inch on all sides.
Again, cut the box lid at the short sides to make the glue flaps. And finish the lid as you did the box.
You can use a large circle punch to punch out the half circles in the short sides of the lid. and then just decorate it as you like.

Thanks for dropping by today! have a wonderful monday!

Only 24 days til Christmas

omgosh! its coming up so fast, I can't believe how fast Thanksgiving went by. Cooking all morning, a big meal, then bam.. it's bedtime. Get up, have some leftovers for lunch, decorate some, bam again.. and the whole weekend went that way. I did get all my trees up- I have 4 trees that are decorated, then 3 smallish ones I put in our bay window, those only have lights and bows on them. I have the main tree, a Santa tree, a snowman tree and a gingerbread/baking tree. I think now that I have the room, I'm going to look into getting big trees for my assorted themed trees. Mine are all skinny trees and various heights.
here is a pic of the den with the fireplace, I have my santa collection on the mantel, and the hearth has my nutcrackers. This is the den I just got finished painting a couple weeks ago. so glad i was done in time. notice the cat that would not get out of the frame, down there in the corner.
Also- did you notice my new banner and background. I got the freebie digi supplies at shabbyprincess.com and I simply made my own background, and substituted it in the HTML I copied from thecutestblogontheblock.today is also the day for revealing our 2sketches4you cards. This week the sponser is Pink Persimmon, http://www.pinkpersimmon.com/ go check them out- the designs they sent me are so cute! Course I added some white dimensional paint, and glittered over top that for my snow. add in the KI lace paper (flipped over to be white) and the bobunny holiday cheer paper, some machine stitching and the usual buttons/hemp. with a brad and a little jesse james jingle bell button thrown in for contrast. Hope you like my card!
thanks for visiting, hope you have a wonderful week! please leave me comments- I love to read them!
