Happy Turkey Day!

with all that I have to do today and tomorrow- I'm sure this will be my last post for the week. After Thanksgiving we start setting up Christmas decorations. So that is what we'll be doing this weekend. Dh lugs the stuff down from the attic- and I do the rest- I have the girls decorate the big tree, and help me set out the rest of the decorations. wish me luck that there won't be too many dead spiders in the boxes! eek!
I loved the bonus sketch from Hanneke at 2sketches4you this week. this is what I came up with for it. the paper is bobunny, with some MAMBI felt leaves, a Hambly prints swirl, some extra felt I had, and button, ribbon and twine, with some MM letters.this is another card I created the other day. Anna Griffin paper and sticker, with a Hambly clear journaling block, a My Minds Eye rubon, MM letters, buttons and twine.

Hope everyone who celebrates Thanksgiving has a wonderful one- and doesn't suffer too much from overindulgence. I am so thankful for my family, my home, that we are able to have a Thanksgiving where so many families won't be enjoying this Thanksgiving because they can barely put food on the table, I am thankful for my friends, blog readers, for this craft/art that I enjoy so much. I am thankful for my country, and my freedom.
thanks for stopping by!

Blue Monday

well not just blue but light blue and green- I got hooked on the colors when I was making cards- and um- just couldn't stop making stuff with a few certain papers.
How was your weekend- we got so much stuff done around the house- some of those little projects that needed finishing. A got to go over a friends house, so lil A helped out Mommy and Daddy - it was fun hanging out with her while she helped us.
It's Kazan's sketch #14 over at 2sketches4you this week! My take includes some really bright colors! I guess I was in a funk over the gloomy weather we were having last week.
Supplies include that awesome pink paper from Bobunny- more scraps from Holiday cheer-
some paper from SEI, that awesome flower from Miss Elizabeths ( dollartree ) and a Hambly screen print block. I handcut and folded the leaves, added in some buttons with hemp bows, and some American Crafts Thickers letters. Oh and i used my trusty Martha punch for the scallops.
Next- I drug out my Anna Griffin papers again- and made up this richly colored card. Papers and rubon letters are Anna Griffin- I turn over the papers to use the kraft side as well. A tiny bit of Scenic Route graph paper and a mulberry flower with sheer fabric leaves, a hemp bow button, and some machine sewing. I also included a small tag with a Cornish Heritage Farms stamp- Kim Hughes collection-thankful. http://www.cornishheritagefarms.com/intro.php in case you wanna see the let's get stuffed set in full.

This is the beginning of the blue and green, if you want to stop here- I completely understand and won't hold it against you if you walk away now.

if you keep looking- well- I warned you. and even worse- I may not even be finished with it- cause I really like it-

are you still there?

ok- let's take a look- take a deep breath- this will only hurt for a few seconds.

spread your wings- I bought this glittery pretty butterfly stickers and am determined to use at least half of them before I let the girls have them. Scenic Route papers, martha punch, K& Co sticker, MM letters, and craft buttons and hemp.

Next is more of the Scenic Route, with some Miss Elizabeths chipboard butterflies and flower, K& Co sticker letters, MM little letters, Bobunny Ribbon and more buttons and hemp.

I gave up on cards for the day, and went to tags, look ma- more Scenic Route, more Miss E's chipboard flowers, a mulberry paper flower, another K&co butterfly and some more buttons and hemp. I used another Cornish Heritage Farms stamp, from let's get stuffed. And the twill is from Anna Griffin.
this tag is more of the same, Scenic Route, a few prima flowers, some Bobunny ribbon, some Prima bling, Miss E's chipboard ladybug, and a congrats stamp from Cornish Heritage Farms, this one from the Tag you're it set.

see- was that so bad? it was? oh.

sorry.

but- dude? - the name on the blog is SCRAPinkris- which means- somehow, somewhere I gotta make the most of the expensive products and supplies I had to have.

oh and today is my second card of the day up at scrapscene if you wannta check it out.

thanks for dropping in- and please leave me a comment if you have a moment!

whoo hoo- 90th post

wow! I can't believe it's only been a few months of me blogging and I'm almost at my 100th post- I'll have to gather some goodies to giveaway and have a little celebration. I want to thank everyone who visits, those of you who have me bookmarked, on their blogrolls, and those of you who just happen to drop in. I really appreciate all the wonderful comments and remarks you leave me! Today I'm sharing a few things - I had a good run of creativity yesterday and got these done in a few hours. First I want to show you the weird sky we had at about 4:30 last night- it was just starting to snow and the sky was pink, it was pretty in an unusal way. it wasn't the sun setting- because over in the west it was a blue sky, it was just the color of the storm

First to share today is this cute little plaque I made with mostly Flair papers, the greens are all from the Calendar collection- June - it has these pretty butterflies I cut out. The tan paper is a recipe card I cut the font off of, then I added some Martha punch borders, and a Flair Scripture Quote. Topping it off is bobunny ribbon and lace, and a hemp tie with button. I think this would make a great gift. oh oh oh - I almost forgot- I got the wood plaque at dollartree- love that place!

Next is my sweet little baby card, using scraps- the green paper is SEI poppy line, with a MM journaling tear out, I used a K&CO bfly sticker, and some Michaels ribbon. The rubon is Anna Griffin, and I cut around it with scallop scissors. Add in some darice buttons, hemp- and I even recycled the backing that comes with the stickers -it's just plain white thin chipboard- why throw it away.

next is this lovely birdy card, I used Anna Griffin papers and cut the bird from the paper. The burgundy background paper is Kaiser- still using scraps. I added in Anna G twill, some Prima flowers, a button and hemp ( do I really need to keep saying that?) the always letters are Anna G rubons, and I used a few blue MM letters. I also managed to sew a circle- yay for me!

have I mentioned i {heart} dollartree- you can find some of the best things there- of course- you might have to really search- but my big one over in Delaware( home of tax free shopping - whoot whoot) has an arts and crafts section they are starting to really build up. I found some Miss Elizabeth's chipboard and flowers- these AWESOME chipboard bflies were in a package I picked up. the colors go so well with my Anna Griffin papers and rubon. I added some sewing on the cardstock, KI lace paper ( flipped over to the white side- it's an orange sheet) and a Hambly acrylic journaling spot- the white chip is more use of the K&CO trash backing of sticker sheet.
I still have leftovers from my day with bobunny's holiday cheer line- so I'm making a few more christmasy cards. I used some cardboard, some Hambly pink screen print, my martha scallop punch, I punched circles from the snowflake paper and put them on my trees, that I just handcut, then I added gems to the middle of the snowflakes. I also added a flower from the bobunny sweetie pie sheet- a pearl from Michaels and another sticker from holiday cheer for the greeting.

lastly today, I have this cute little thank you card. scraps from Kaiser Craft ( the pink dots), SEI the poppy paper, a MM journal tear out, a stitched on piece of scrap and the rubon is from Crate paper. the flower is mixed- I used a piece cut from white flower lace cardstock by KI memories, and a Miss Elizabeths' flower- I pierced the leaves tho - they were too plain for me.

again- sorry for my darkish pics- it's cloudy and overcast again today- I"m hoping for a sunshiney day soon.

thanks for dropping in. I'd love it if you left a comment!

Good Monday Morning!

Hi! Hope you had an excellent weekend! We had a really nice one- Saturday- A's best friend stayed over and we treated her to one of our family traditions- Backwards Dinner. We only have it maybe 2x a year. We have ice cream sundaes then dinner, if anyone is still hungry that is. The girls picked chocolate/vanilla ice cream, I made homemade caramel and chocolate ganache ( better then most hot fudges) and we had bananas and whip cream with sprinkles. I keep saying we- but DH and I opted for dinner first- tacos- which was a hard choice for the girls to have second- since we all just love tacos! It was such a big hit!!
Do you have any different traditions that you celebrate?

On to my card- based on Laura's sketch over at 2sketchesforyou- this week my 1st card sketch ever is debuting- so if you get the chance- check it out and let me see what you do with it!
I used scraps- again- but also some new stuff I picked up this week. The paper is KaiserCraft, the diecut sheet is KI memories, rubon is Bobunny, the screen print journal spot is Hambly, and the leaves are MAMBI. I added my button and hemp bow, as usual! I really love this one!
Here is my take on the sketch I did at 2sketches4you today. I used KaiserCraft papers, a handcut heart from cardboard, handcut wings, holly berries and rubon from Bobunny, and craft supply ribbon and button with hemp. I punched the squares out with a 2 inch square and I machine stitched around the edges. ( love that funky uneven line? shh! don't tell anyone- I can't sew a straight line! haha - whenever I try to, it goes astray, so I deliberately make it wonky)

Next I get to share what I worked on at the end of the week last week. Bobunny has this new Holiday Cheer line- omgosh! I sure do love it- I love pinks and greens and blues for cmas, the fun bright colors- those are more my style. what you can't see as well on my pics are all the sparkles from the glitter glue on these. ( think hard and imagine it! LOL!)
A came in the other day to my office- took a look at the set, grabbed the door hanger and took off saying- thanks mommy! LOL! Um- I think she's laid claim to it.

Here are the close ups- it's pretty much all Bobunny Holiday Cheer stuff- the stamps are Paper Salon, then I cut them out( the tree and some of the gifts)- my wonderful friend Michelle sent these stamps to me and I finally am getting to use them. As I look at the bottom of the house- it's too plain- I'm going to buy some of the glitter snow stuff and add it to the edge there.
I hand drew the snowman, and I added lots of rickrack to the house. I like it so much- I'm thinking about making a small christmas birdhouse village. wouldn't that be adorable!
This is the coveted door hanger, I guess I'll have to make another for Lil' A's room. again- the tree is stamped and cut out- stamped with Paper Salon stamps. I hand cut the stars. I cut apart the bobunny sticker for the ho ho ho- I really do that a lot- cut up stickers to make them work for me- don't be afraid to alter your materials to make them your own. I made the small journal spot and then just layered stickers and paper, and gems overtop. bobunny rubbon and of course, my required buttons and hemp.

Last is this tiny jar I picked up at Walmart. I filled it with Hershey's Bliss chocolates- yumm- dark chocolate! I added papers, and stickers to the jar, the round one on the lid is a sticker, then I layered paper overtop- since the stickers tend to stick to the glass better. I cut the ornament from a sticker, so I layered it onto paper, then added gems in pretty colors. the pink tag says Happy Holidays, and then I added a big red tie there to the lid. Again- I cut up the have a jolly holiday sticker, then added a couple gems for sparkle.
All in all- I think some of these would make nice gifts- esp the jar!!

I'd love to hear your comments on my projects today! thanks so much! have a great day

More stamping fun!

yeah- I get obsessed- that's how I do.
I actually don't have a whole lot of stamps- mostly I have a bunch of alphabets that I bought when that was the scrapping craze. but shapes and stuff- I don't tend to buy a lot- just cause for a long time I didn't know what to really do with them. I love the look of stamps- but am not a big fan of a flat card, so I needed a way to make them dimensional.
so I'm still stamping with my limited amounts of stamps.
love how this card turned out tho!
if you like these stamps from Cornish Heritage Farms by Kim Hughes- go check them out- they aren't too small and they really are versatile. here is a link of what they offer. http://www.cornishheritagefarms.com
so supplies for this- I used bobunny papers, the X stitching stamp is bobunny as well.
I stamped on a piece of packaging and cut it out, using staz on ink- the bird is from inkadinkado.
used some of that Queen and Co felt I've been hoarding, and the HELLO stamp is from Cornish Heritage Farms. I so love the look of the stamped image on the clear. and of course- LOVE the texture from the piece of corrugated cardboard.

Sorry this one isn't as bright- I wanted to get it uploaded tonight- and the sun was setting so it was getting a bit dark. Papers are Bobunny, Prima flowers, MM brads, and inkadinkado stamp for the owl.
Another Cornish Heritage Farms stamp for the Thank you. and some pearls from Mikes
thanks for stopping by tonight!

just one of those days

where I cleaned and ran around and had too much to do to get anything done.
hunh?
yeah, that sums it up.
like I said- one of those days. I was so busy running around that I really only had a little time to do anything- and in hopes of figuring out my camera- and how to take much better pics, that is what I chose to do with my 30 minutes of free time today.
if you are anything like me- and fall soundly asleep while opening the front cover on your camera manual, then go over to my blogs links and go to Pioneer Woman's site- she has some basic instruction on learning your camera settings - things like aperture and shutterspeed- it's well done so my tiny brain can actually kinda sorta understand these complicated things. I might actually be learning what those things mean - and how to apply them to my confangled camera. ( eep! I just found out that my camera was set on 1600 ISO!! ) how did that happen!

I made this card last night- nothing earth shatteringly new- just some nice colors and design.
All papers are KaiserCraft, prima glittered flower, Cornish Heritage Farms stamp and some WRMK rickrack.

have a good night!

Super Early Sunday

good morning- I'm sitting here- early for me- watching the sunrise fade up into the sky. the trees look gorgeous out there. thought I'd share this gift set that I just think turned out terrifically.
These were a focus for the bobunny blog, last minute christmas gifts. Check out the blog- there are some FABULOUS gifts- the girls are so incredibly talented on the team! And leave a comment- don't forget- cause they do giveaways all the time!
I am giving this note card set to Annalise's teacher - it's personalized with her first initial ( the teachers, not lil A's- hah ). This set took me about 2 hours to make including cutting out all the stamped birds, well worth the time to send in something really special for a great teacher.
And after I made it- I found a set of 50 cards/envelopes for $5 at walmart-so you could make several sets for way cheap.
Description- I made the gift bag, matching tags, two sets of matching cards ( just so she'd have different designs to pick from) and matching envelopes- this is a set of 10 total cards/envies. You know- a cute wrapped pen would have been good too- I'll have to see if I can find some scraps from this.
Materials- the papers are from Bobunny Sweetie Pie line- darling aren't they. The bird is from inkadinkado, buttons and hemp are crafty stuff, the swirly stamp is from Bobunny, and the letter is a generic letter set from Darice. I also used my largest circle punch. that's it- really- not a whole lot of cost here. scroll down for my other project.
I also made this hanging calendar on the cheap. I designed the chipboard with some scallops and cut it out, then added the Bobunny Sweetie Pie papers and did all the shaped stuff by hand- the trees and the heart. I added the stickers that match the collection, some bronze rubon months- also bobunny, bobunny ribbon and brads, and a couple prima flowers.
I made the date calendar in MSWord , but I just found a print out at Heartwarming Vintage if you google them with dates that looks like it would work.
Thought this would be nice to hang up at work or in the kitchen, office or something. Also could be a sweet teachers gift- I think our teachers would like it- esp someone like an art teacher or even the bus driver.

that's it for today- enjoy your sunday breakfasts! thanks for stopping by - please leave me a comment if you like my gift ideas!

Sing it with me

I'm still Stampin' , better then I ever did
looking like a true survivor, feeling like a little kid
and I 'm still stamping after all this time...
ok, it's a stretch- but I got my Elton on and I feel better now.
yep- still going to town with the stamperoonies. and my scraps of course. quick post today- I have cut in painting to get done so I can finish painting before we set up the christmas decor.
I still have dark pics- sorry about that- I guess it's better then nothing for now.
First card- Best wishes- Cornish Heritage Farms gretting stamp, Bobunny dot background stamp. Papers are Bobunny and Crate Paper. Snowflake is Bazzill and I painted then glittered it. Yeah- I know- I talked smack about glitter just yesterday. LOVE the look, hate making the look. crafty buttons and hemp- mike's pearls.

SEI papers- more from the Poppy line- and a tiny bit of Bobunny in there too. Cornish Heritage Farms greeting and cupcake. Bird is Inkadinkado. I glittered the icing on the cupcake- hard to see. and added gems as well.

Motherhood, love the colors! Bobunny and Flair and Scenic Route- but I think you know by now the graph papers are Scenic Route on all my cards. Bobunny ribbon, Flair Sticker, Inkadinkado stamp and crafty buttons and hemp. Michaels pearls again.
have a great weekend- hope you get to enjoy some of the last of the fall weather out there.

Reluctant Stamper

I pulled out the old stamps last night- I love the look, but sometimes I'm at a loss with what to do with them to make them fresh looking. I also really don't like Embossing Powder and stuff- too messy for me. Also why I tend not to use glittery stuff- too much mess.
Don't get me wrong- I'm not TOTALLY uptight and anal.
just mostly.

This bird card is made with SEI papers, the graph paper is my beloved Scenic Route paper that I use on everything lately. The bird is a martha stamp, the swirls are bobunny and the greeting is cornish heritage farms. I cut out the flower- the whole line has a shimmer to it- pearlized I guess and the flower is totally pearly- which is pretty. Oh that heart red paper is Bobunny- scraps being used in this hiz-ouse!!
Thanksgiving on the brain- gotta start stocking up for it! I want to buy some nice serving bowls this year- seems like they are hard to find- anyone have a good source for them? leave a link in my comments and I'll check it out -thank you!
So this card is made with Flair paper, Sei cardstock, bobunny stamp and chipboard. My Minds Eye felt and glitter leaves. Flair fantastic plastic letters and Cornish Heritage Farms stamp greeting. thi s is so much prettier in real life, I wish we could see how pretty shiney, shimmery, glitter, stuff is in a pic. What is also hard to see is that I cut another circle and distressed the edges and put it in the larger chipboard circle.

Another shimmery paper from the SEI line. This has blue metallic in the lines. Scenic Route graph, and bobunny blue papers. Bobunny ribbon, cornish heritage farms stamped greeting, Inkadinkado stamped owl that I also cut out.
thanks for dropping in today!

Thursday- but it feels like Monday

Our schools had off til today b/c they had conferences on Mon and Wed- so the girls only have two days this week- making me feel like today is more like Monday then Thurs.
do you ever have days where you run around so much- that even tho you accomplish a lot- you don't feel like you did anything but go in circles. Yesterday was that day for me.
At the end of the day- i was plumb wore out. I was supposed to have gotten much of the den painted- but putting the new color on the wall- I hated it- fortunately with an art background, I was able to mix other paint colors into it- and ended up with a nice taupe color- it's funny tho- testing the colors on the wall- it's got about 7 different splotches of color.

so as a treat for us- i made Nutella Danishes- just an idea I've had in my head that I wanted to try, and OH MY GAWRSH! you have got to got to got to got to GOT TO try these. Seriously.
they are that good.
AND they are so simple!! All I used was Puff Pastry Dough- Pepperidge Farms makes a nice kind, some Nutella out of the jar, egg wash, and simple glaze made with confectioners sugar and milk. really- buy the stuff to make it today- your tongue will thank you. your hips may not..

isn 't it sweet sitting there- saying- look how cute I am- I'm just a little delicious bite- come on- try me..

to make these- you thaw the dough in the fridge- I did mine overnight. you can let it go to room temp or work right from the fridge- which is what I did. I threw some flour on the counter- and rolled it out- it comes in two sections- work with one at a time, and each section is folded in thirds, I cut off each third- working with one at a time. I managed to cut each of the thirds into 5 pieces. ( you can get about 30 small danish from a box) I rolled the dough out to about 20 inches long x 5 inches wide ( you may need to flour the top a tad bit to keep it from sticking - think cutout sugar cookies rolling style.) then I cut the strip into 5 squarish pieces- remember - they don't have to be perfect here. I made a simple egg wash- one egg and about 2 tablespoons of water and whisk really well . then brush the egg wash along the edges of the squarish piece. Add about a tablespoon of Nutella in the middle, then fold one side over - I made mine into triangles, then folded the corners over and in and tucked the extra stuff underneath. Place them on a cooking sheet- I use AirBake pans and just a tiny spray of Pam or nonsticking spray. Next time, i'm going to try to roll them like little burritos. Brush more egg wash over the top- be generous with this, cover them completely with the wash, but don't have a whole egg dripped down around it. I baked them at 400 degrees for about 18 minutes- keep an eye on them after about 10 and see how they are- all ovens are different so the time will be when they are a beautiful golden brown.

take them out and allow them to cool mostly. Mix about 1 cup of confectioners sugar with about 2 tablespoons of milk- whatever you have in the fridge. you can also put in vanilla- but not necessary as it's only a glaze. You may want to put them on a cooling rack to glaze- I liked the glaze sticking to the bottom of them, so I left mine on the cooking sheet.

that's it- eat them eat them you will see, you can eat them with a fox, you can eat them in a box, you will eat them in a boat, you will eat them with a goat, you will like Nutella Danish, sam I am.

next- I get to share - A- went to the eye dr on Tues- and got her glasses yesterday! so fast!!

I hate them ( not really )- she looks too grown up- I wanted her to get ones with little ponies on them. but no- she had to pick out these that just make her look even more gorgeous. hmm.

you know- I think I may have to tell her her hair is more auburn, every pic I take - her hair really isn't the boring brown she thinks it is.

forgive the messy windy hair- but had to include this to show you our gorgeous backyard backdrop- the trees are so bronzed this year.

that's all for today- sorry no scrappy stuff- but hopefully you will try the danish- oh- btw- I'm having mine with hazelnut coffee this morning- mmmmmmmmelty delishiousness!......

new cards today

Sorry for the poor pics today- I had the hardest time getting enough light- the cloud cover has just made everything dingy. I'm really hoping that this isn't what winter will be- all cloudy never any sunshiny days. that would give me a serious case of the doldrums. ugh!

this pic I just couldn't get right looking- so here is my best one. everything I tried the owl washed out. he's a stamp from an inkadinkado set. I did a bunch of stamping yesterday and I can't WAIT to share those with you- but they have to be posted on Bobunny's blog first- so soon as they are I can share them here. this is from Laura's 12th sketch over at 2sketches4you.
the papers for this card are from Bobunny's new Sweetie pie collection- I am so in love with the green swirl and flower paper!! flowers are stickers from the line and I used choc. chip Stampin Up ink for the owl. he's got some gem eyes and I used some old K&Co letters for the greeting.
love this shaped card! the graph scallop is attached to the back so that the front of the heart lifts. I just handcut the shape leaving a little bit at the top of the heart together. A jumbo flower and swirl rubon, all bobunny stuff. prima flower, Scenic Route graph paper and SEI letter stickers.

thanks for stopping in today! have a great day!

schweet news!

I get to announce that I was chosen among 5 other fantabulous designers, to be one of the Winter Team at 2sketches4you! The other ladies- Hanneke, Rae, Katie, Peet, and Heidi- are just the most talented group! I can't believe I get to create along with them, it's going to be an exciting three months! Here are my cards I created for my DT submission- that the fabulous and sweet Kazan and Laura apparently liked enough to pick me!
supplies for the bird card are- Bobunny paper, martha stewart punch and bird stamp ( I inked with staz on- then watercolor penciled and drug out the colors with a water brush) , prima flowers, those fab. michaels pearls, a simple rubon from MME, and an american crafts ribbon.
I really like how this turned out- not as dimensional as I typically make- but still had a lot of depth feeling.

Now this card- I have always loved when anyone made a shape with their primas- but I shied away from it- so I didn't do something someone else had just done. So here is mine- finally a couple years later, but I really like how this turned out, esp with the 800 half pearls on it. I used some Scenic Route paper and martha punch. the LOVE is punched from a SR diecuts page. Hugs and Kisses is from an Art Warehouse rubon book, and ribbon and twine are craft supplies.

thanks and have a great night!

it's november already?

where did the year go? where did October go- was I that busy - yeah I guess I was.
I have good shares today! and check out my new November banner! cool isn't it! we had a blast trick or treating last night- the neighborhood down the road was perfect for it and the girls were dragging their bags of candy by the end of the night- they got a huge haul.

First I have to show you- this cute Easter card I made, this is made with Flair papers and stickers. I used some bobunny cardstock and ribbon, added in my martha punch and made that nice scalloped piece. Pretty happy with how it worked out. Especially since I have a horrible time doing easter- it's just not a holiday I enjoy scrapping. i think it's all the pastels, eeek- they are just not my thing. I get flashbacks of the 80's and girls wearing pastel izod shirts.
next this card is made with Anna Griffin papers and 3 d sticker tree. isn 't that tree neat! I added in a piece of Scenic Route graph paper- i'm all about that paper lately. I also added in a walnut inked tag, bobunny ribbon, and some MM letters. love how that turned out!
these treat bags I made for the bobunny blog were some of my favorites. I love the bracket style bag and those papers and embellies are just so cute! I think the skeletons are totally funny! sent these in to the teachers- boy did they like that!

this is probably my favorite. it's another one of those dollar store trees, I used Anna Griffin papers for the flowers, lots of blue buttons, a handmade little tag, and some ribbons and trim. if this doesn't get picked up right now- I think I'm going to have it in the den on the fireplace mantel.

last but not least, is a layout i did for Valerie Salmon's sketch blog- http://gotsketch.blogspot.com/
I used my cricut to cut out that jumbo scallop square out, plus all the flowers. the birds are a martha stewart stamp and the papers are all bobunny.

thanks for dropping in today. I hope you've enjoyed my projects!
