Birthday stuff

These were up on the Bobunny blog- but I wanted to share them here- I went out of my safe zone to make this- and I was pretty happy with how it turned out. it's bright, fun and festive, perfect for that happy, exuberant kiddo in the pics. Her with her crazy faces.

It's all Bobunny cept for the lettering, that is AC thickers and a single K&C0 chipboard letter.
I love to use the scraps for something- so I made a little card too- loved the flowers so I tried them again. Then I used a bobunny rubon for the sentiment.

lotsa love!

Butterflies

Cards are fun, I like using scraps up and I can use embellies that I might not have any reason to use otherwise. I love butterflies, but don't get to use them often enough. I got some cool rubons then cut out the rubons and folded the wings up a little for dimension.
I used some bobunny beau jardin papers on these two cards, and just had fun.

I have an awesome job

I sat here this morning and watched the end of the LOTR that I've been trying to finish up all weekend. Annalise said to me- this is what I want to do when I get a job- watch movies and make stuff. I guess it is a pretty darn cushy job. I'm really blessed to be able to do it, even tho sometimes it's a dog eat scrapper world, the paychecks are far between and I never let myself have days off.

Coming up in September will be the first time I'll be home alone in over 10 years. Even when the girls were at school- there was someone else here and I was never truely alone. Am looking forward to it- looking forward to getting a real schedule in place and making good use of my time. So I thought I'd share some pics of my space- my office, also known as the hang out for everyone! Not only are the computers out here- but the gaming TV is as well- and I've added a round table down at the other end since I took these pics- so we can eat or watch tv, play on the Wii or just chill- all together.

My awesome desk- it's 4'x8' and we can all spread out on it and I love how I can put all my boxes out without taking all my space. Those big cabinets hold tons of supplies and paper.
The awesome view I have outside- there is a pool over in the right side of the yard now- but I still have almost 90 percent of that view. Eventually we'll add a deck out there. Years of overgrowth have been quite a task for us to take down, and getting the yard dressed back up will take us even more time.
The first set up of the sunroom side of my office, I've since stained the little side table, and have taken down the dart board- gonna paint a canvas for down there and really be happy about this room. Imagine a super cute little white round table with seats for 4 down at the end. Am still working on finishing those chairs- but soon it will be pulled together. I also plan on replacing that little rug- it works for now.
I bought my cabinets all at Lowes. even the little drawer units- I simply stacked two of them together for each unit. I love that the floor is brick, so easy to keep clean,.

This is my little slice of heaven, the room that has become our hangout-

Peace!

Sunday

Sunday- I didn't have to make a big breakfast, and the girls all played in the pool til a huge thunderstorm came and rushed us inside. Chris and I worked on that big pile of mulch and dirt- each little bit gotten done we cleared away about 2 yards worth- it's a huge amount there. There are so many things to work on outside and inside- small bits will help get each thing done in turn.
I worked on this stool this week- its now dry and cute as can be.
wouldn't this be nice in the kitchen - I have these really deep cabinets that it's hard to reach all the way back in- think I'll keep this in there - should be handy dandy.

I used Flair paper, and the cut out label is Flair too. I also used some bobunny papers and cardstock, lots of inking, some punched flowers. And Modpodge for Paper. Then I painted the legs and aged them with some watered down paint.

So cute for a country kitchen. And doesn't it look perfect with my brick floor!

Have a great night!

Blingy Bling

Alizabeth had her 2 girlfriends over for a sleepover last night - after eating tons of pizza and pretzels dipped in warm nutella, we all got in the pool to play. I didn't realize 4 shrieking girls could sound like 20! we sure had a blast playing and some candles kept the bugs away. We stayed in til about 10.
I picked up some AWESOME new girlie ear buds for my ipod- A confiscated my old ones- and I hate those flat ones that are so popular. These sweet ones I picked up at Walmart- they are pink, they are glittery and they are ohhh sooo girly! I told Chris I doubted he would use my ipod anymore with them- he said not in public anyway! LOL!

in case you haven't checked the Bobunny blog out- here are some cards that are in the product highlight for Beachy Keen. I did a tag as well- but it didn't make the cut *wink*.
Everything is basically bobunny, except for the small Basic Gray letters, brads, flower, and ink.

Enjoy your Saturday!

TGIF!

oh friday nights- the beginning of the weekend. I have this strong urge to stay home and create today. But i must run errands this morning- perhaps I will still be feeling creative when we get home. who knows-I have to go to the DMV - and that always sucks the life out of anyone.

I watched more of LOTR last night while making a couple cards( there are so many hunky guys in that movie!) got out some stash of papers I've gotten that I never used. I love making cards, they are just so much faster then layouts and altered items, I feel like I get to be creative faster- I always seem to have an idea for the next card while I'm still working on one. Or I get an idea and want to try it out a couple different ways.

I also made a super cute altered item I needed to let dry- can't wait to share that one!
onto the cards

this one uses Art Warehouse papers, and some Bobunny Double Dot cs. I handcut the hearts ( I wish I could afford some of these new diecut machines) the top circles are popdotted- and inked.
A glittery prima flower and my daily requirement of buttons and twine.

who says punches are outdated- I thought I was being so creative making this leaf embellie - then I saw a similar design already on one of the matching papers! LOL! guess I saw it and liked it subconsciously. anywho- these papers are SEI- with a little bobunny for the brown dot paper. A little stitching and a PaperHouse Productions rubon word. Of course I HAD to use the twine!!

have a great day!

Cards made from Scrap

As you will see- I made some cards last night- and am very happy with them, think they all are pub worthy- I don't always feel that way once I've stepped away from my table, but lately I've been just feeling more crafty and productive. I didn't use a single piece of fresh paper on any of these cards, everything is scraps. Not only that- but it's all recent scraps-
proud that I'm using some of this up. The rest I will give to the girls to use on their craft projects, they sit in their craft room- yeah- we have a small room that we've converted for them- and they make all kinds of cute things-
note to self- start taking more pics of these things before they grow up and everything becomes sophisticated.

Mom card made using cardstock, MM flower, Flair paper ribbon and mom tag. Love the stitching on it- and am addicted to hemp for ribbon tying.
isn't this one sweet- love the swirl paper- that's Bobunny, with cut out bobunny other paper flowers, a KI tag, and some brads with more hemp twine. I stitched without thread on this one.
another pretty girly one- Bobunny paper ( the reverse of the one above) some bobunny paper punched flowers, a daisy d's tag, bobunny rubons and more stitching and twine- gee- did I mention I love that stuff!
ohhh- halloween- it'll be here sooner then we know it- I love the giant moon with the bats! This is reminisce paper ( with bobunny diamonds) and reminisce stickers. added a quick punched star with hand drawn detail lines, a button and - dum dum duuuummmmmm- BLACK twine this time! LOL!
LOVE these cute Reminisce stickers, the house is just too cute! again- Reminisce paper and stickers, with a punched star, button and black twine, and that chipboard frame- whoever makes those- I can't remember- and I've had it ages- OH now I remember- it's Provo Craft! there now you know!
another cute one with a big circle representing a celestial body- this time the sun, and that cute Flair paper ribbon representing the sea. Flair rubons and a MM brad. oh its hard to see- but it says Aloha around the sun.

Thought I'd share another flower pic- I have tons of them. Aren't these tulips gorgeous!

wish they were mine- apparently the old owners only liked solid colored flowers here. But I took these of the neighbors flowers. they just make me happy- love those strong bold colors.

yesterday I decided to learn a little about digital scrapbooking. I finally installed my adobe photoshop that I've had for years ( got it free ages ago). then went to www.acherryontop.com

and bought two small kits- soo pretty!! I was amazed how cheap they were- I spent $7.50 and got tons of paper, embellies, alphas and ribbons.

Little did I realize how difficult it is to do.

I give kudos out there to all digi scrappers- it's very time consuming. Perhaps because I'm new it just seems that way.

But having to lasso and cut out every single thing- maybe you do that first- then save them- and you can just paste them onto your layouts-

but for me- it will be a fun diversion- maybe I will try some hybrid layouts- my love will always be with cutting and pasting, getting my hands into it.

Sharing an old layout here- still one of my favs- never did get it picked up- don't know why. I think I made it during my heart phase- I used them on everything, loved making giant ones! LOL

til next time

an oldie but goodie

I promised I would share one of my favorite spring flowers photos.

This one is it- I love the texture of the bark from my huge tree in the front yard. The roots around the base are bigger then my thighs - and that is saying something! I'm guessing these trees are over 60 years old.
I saw these shoots coming up really from where I wouldn't have guessed any flower could grow- there's barely any dirt there- just what is piled up on top of the roots.

and yet- here is this sweet little crocus peeking out- and making it's way to herald spring.
and by the way- it was the ONLY crocus in the whole yard. So it's extra special!

Still in the spirit of sharing-
an old layout- but still one of my favorites.
love those pics of lil a, the star details are really interesting, and I love the round title. Not to mention- I barely get to use non pinks for layouts- since both girls favor pink clothing!
tata for now!

CHA New Releases- Reminisce

last- but certainly not least- Reminisce designs has come out with 4 new collections.

Frosted has glitter embossed on it- with some super cute characters, COOL snowflake designs and great colors.

By far my most favorite- and the absolute NEATEST paper- Enchanted Autumn- is a holographic paper in gorgeous orange, lime and brown colors. Cute owls, and giant glittered ghosts are some of the characters in the collection.

Scare Tactics is another fab collection- with edgy pumpkins, and bats, with less cute and more COOL halloween designs.
Love the jumbo pumpkins with this one!

Making the grade, the final collection- it perfect for school projects. The stickers are sooo neat- with 3 dimensional sheets- as well as shiny embossed designs. Working with this collection was really neat!

some of my designs are up on the Reminisce blog, as well as other team members work- go check it out.

g'night!

CHA New Releases- Flair Designs

Flair also came out with new product- haven't gotten my greedy little mitts on this yet- but isnt that halloween collection just darling!

And that new Christmas collection-
really love the addition of purple- not a color that you get to find in Christmas products- it's so unique tho- I can't wait to work with it.

And isn't that paper trim divine? yeah- I get to play with it- neener neener- I'm gonna make time to fiddle with it this week, will share my designs when I do.
Flair's blog - http://flairdesignsblog.typepad.com
check it out for close views!

CHA new releases- Bobunny

Most of you know that CHA was this past week- and there is so much GORGEOUS stuff coming out. I'm so excited to work with companies that make great stuff.

Bobunny has started a new blog

http://bobunny.blogspot.com/

go visit it today and see my first posted project. was so excited to have my project picked for it!

Can I say- I can't wait to get my mitts on these collections. I think Splendor, Beautiful Life, and Holiday Cheer suit me the best. Splendor has some AWESOME journal spots that I'm dying to play with!

And to add to the list of wonderful and gorgeous- they came out with more stamp and store stamps- with KEWL designs- I keep wishing I had them here to play with this week- I've done a few projects that would have rocked hard if they were stamped with some of the designs.

And the thunder rolled...

thunder
storms rolled in last night- the downpours were incredible!

I sat out here in my office watching them and working on some cards, til the power went out around 10. we didn't get power back til after 2 am.

It was miserable to try and sleep- the house felt so hot. The girls gathered in our room and after the power came on, we blasted the a/c and the fans to cool down.

Am dragging this morning- gonna need extra caffeine to get motivated.

These are a couple cards I worked on last night Love those flowers I made. It's all Anna Griffin, with those cute little round epoxy stickers. Ripped the flower petals off of some punched flowers ( he loves me, he loves me not, he LOVES ME! LOL!) and just stuck them to the back of the epoxy stickers.

This is one of the flower things I had growing in my side flower bed. It's tall, about 3 feet and had about 20-30 of these flowers on it- anyone know what this is?
It didn't last long- it's already dried up and dead.

I have tons of flower pics from the spring- playing with my camera and taking pics of all the new flowers in the yard.
perhaps tomorrow I will share my favorite pic of them all.

Happy Monday!

Sunday Night

Sunday night- everyone in bed for the evening- well- everyone but me- finally- some free time, some me time.

This glorious sunset happened back in April- it was spectacular!

As of yet- I still haven't used it in a layout, perhaps because I don't trust myself enough to do it real justice- then again- does it need any decoration at all?

I think it's more then enough in itself.

Another card for today- I'm feeling all share-y tonight. Am planning on making some cards with scraps tonight.

It's amazing how much I actually have in scraps. I try to use it- but really- after using scraps of the same paper on 5 projects- it gets pretty stale.

This is all Bobunny, cept for the small letters ( K&co) and that big cool chip ( Scenic Route I think).

Note to self- branch out- think more out of the box- try something new.
I think we all can use a push in that direction.

Peace!

Kris

Sunday Lazy Sunday

Sunday's - well i have a love/hate relationship with them. It's the day everyone has to go to bed for the work/school week. But it's also another day to spend together.
I'm usually sore from the work around the house we've been doing, and I typically haven't gotten enough sleep. :P
Everyone likes a big Sunday breakfast, except me- I would rather have Brunch- and I'm usually the one fixing it. But I think today is going to be another relaxing day in the pool- the kids love having both of us out there with them, playing games and swimming races.
Here's a pic of the girls from Friday evening- being silly as I love to see them. Pretty in their pink suits.
Check out our view from the pool- it's awesome.
I couldn't be happier with our new house, and some nights when we go out in the evening- we can see fireworks.
Memorial weekend- we saw 5 different sets of them, it was great!
I can float in the pool and typically only see sky. Our big oak tree is on the other side of the yard, and the only thing close enough is the neighbors big lilac bush- more treelike then bushy.
We ended up putting some umbrellas up next to the pool, so we could go under them and avoid the sun for a bit. Temps here were in the high 90's and the pool was a tepid 89 degrees all day. it was like swimming in bathwater. Once the wind started blowing- it was much warmer in the water.
Here's the project of the day- a newish Anna Griffin card, love this new direction they are going in, trendy!
All papers are Anna Griffin, used a chipboard tag and some twine.
gotta love those Heidi Swapp letters-
I wish more companies would come out with those small skinny chipboard letters- those and the Basic Gray 12x12 sticker sheets are probably some of the best letters I've ever seen.
Have a great Sunday reader! enjoy the last day of your weekend!

Happy Weekend!

I sure do love weekends. Waking up a little later, no schedule being adamantly stuck to, dinner whenever we want it, and getting outside to enjoy whatever weather we have for the weekend.

Unless it's raining- then it's a stay inside and watch movies and chow on popcorn kind of time.

truely tho- most weekends, Chris and I have some type of project we are working on. Sometimes, like this weekend, it's a matter of just doing those small chores that we never seem to get time to do. Like weeding the garden, trimming the yard, spreading grass seed.

Usually we'll work til about lunch time- then we'll chill and hang with the girls.
the pool is gonna feel great today- it's supposed to get really hot.
here is my card of the day- made it yesterday with leftover Bobunny scraps- I need to use those tags more-
yeah- I need to use a lot of my old stash more. Doesn't mean that I will- or that I can find a new look for it- so that I can actually get it picked up. :P
Hopefully soon readers - I will have an actual gallery to look at- and while I'm wishing for things- I will wish on a slideshow for this blog as well. Bare with me- I have to take baby steps here.
til next time-

OMG! I'm finally doing it!

ok- ok- ok- really- I mean- how hard can this blogging thing be?

I've put off doing it for as long as I could- ok- yeah- I caved today- but only because I had to do a spot on another blog and saw how easy it was.

Plus I really needed a place to have a gallery and show my work. I haven't had that since I lost my gallery and my webpage won't load. SOOOO finally- I have a new home here.

so in honor of my new home here- I thought I'd post this tag I made. I used Bobunny papers and rubons. I really like the dimension of the leaves, just a simple fold and it really pops off the tag.
